a knight who turned down an offer made by the king. The king was annoyed by this and banished her, with the condition that should she find an artifact that could heal the crown prince's sickness. She would be allowed to return. 

She chooses to seek out the artifact recorded to be located in the abandoned temple of the Dragon Tree despite others warning to simply wait out the king anger. As Verene was a close friend to the crown prince, the king would surely forgive her.

But being the crown prince's friend, Verena wanted to see if she could find the artifact that could heal him. Even if it meant braving into the abandoned realm of the dragons. After Verena climbs the great tree and enters the temple at the top. She is shocked to see that a single priestess still remains. And even more so that Speraka is willing to help in her search.
