Mazz is a creature from the elven dimension in one of my stories. They don't have a sex, but they go by she/her. She is a familiar(a creature rather common in this dimension, given to each elf), very powerful and magic shifters. They usually take one form throughout their life, but these ones make exceptions for their child. These familiars are special because they have stepped up to help with a very important journey. They change forms to a creature common in the dimension of the child they choose to partner with. Mazz is Collin's given familiar. He is a Glow-kind(from the Fae dimension), so she takes form as a Zink(a common species in that dimension). She can also spit a green acid, which is common for the Zink species. She is also very nurturing and only shows affection. Her motherly personality can change to a battle fit one, if something terrible is to happen. When Collin gets infected during their journey, all of the characters have to fight off the rest of the infected to get to him. In this time, Mazz transforms into an incredibly horrifying creature and gets rid of most of them; this drains most of her power for the rest of the journey. She finally reunites with Collin at the end, when everyone goes back to normal. She goes to retrieve Collin alone in the beginning, and brings him to the elven dimension, where they meet the others. After the journey is over and the kids go home, she still comes by to visit Collin in his dimension.
