Jolly

Jolly is a Mistletoad, a species in progress by myself.

These little guys love to live in pine trees and are said to bring good luck, but they do not like the cold. So, a long time ago, people used to cut down the mistletoad's favorite kind of tree and bring it indoors so that the creature may move into it and grant the family with its luck. They would even decorate the trees so that they matched the toad's glowing markings (which they can flash to communicate) and its shiny orbs (which may also be its eggs, I haven't yet decided). Sometimes they did such a great job decorating they would never even know a mistletoad was living in their tree until they were blessed with good luck.
Maybe it's because of their secretive nature that people forgot about the mistletoad, even though they still cut down trees and decorate them in their homes...
