Name: Jack Barton  -- most folks know him as "Rattlecat Jack"

Occupation: Outlaw, Thief, Gun-for-Hire, Mercenary, that kinda thing

Species: Some kind of shape-shifting critter. Overall quite noodley and lithe, with a strong prehensile tail and limbs; able to turn into a more anthropomorphic form or even pose as a human (below). Human form is tall and lithe, often bulked up by his duster to seem thicker than he is. All forms have characteristic gold teeth, yellow eyes and affinity for cigarettes.

Dark humored and somewhat violent, Jack thrives off the outlaw life. He's standoffish and ready to fight -- but only if the odds are in his favor. If he's out numbered or quickly knocked down, he'll run off like a coward and plot his revenge. Holds a grudge like no man's business, he'll buddy up to you only to shoot you when your back is turned because you ripped him off 2 years ago and forgot. Will lie through his teeth if he has to, doing whatever he can to get away from the law and the noose.

Misc:
> Earned a name for himself as a general no-good Bandit in the desert area he skulks around, raiding caravans and mugging folk who come by the main roads
> Tends to be accompanied by a small gang, all of whom aren't strangers to the other side of the law.
> Very good with pistols and hunting rifles, capable of wielding small-arms with non-human form, can even manipulate them to an extent with his tail (or so they say)
> Can't swim at all and is afraid of large bodies of water (or going up further than his chest)
> Always smoking and tends to smell like tobacco and bad whiskey. Horrible sense of taste in food, booze and people.
