Richard thinks of him as a team mate, considering both of them are alligned with the Magic Council and have partnered together on some particularly hard boss raids. He trusts Ardor enough to have his back in a sticky situation.

Richard doesn't know what his deal is, but to repay his debt, he helps where he can. Other than that, he leaves him be.
