Born to the King of Irali and his queen they are loving parents to the young princess. The King and Queen were hoping for a boy when Amelia came into the picture, but that didn't make them love her less. Instead they fought hard to get the rules changed so she would be the rightful heir even though she was not male. They never stopped fighting until finally it was done. When she was about 8 their kingdom was attacked and she was injured, which is how she got the slices in her wings. She will always remember the fear she felt that night, and the overwhelming relief when her father and his guards rescued her. She suffered from nightmares for years, but she finally talked her father into teaching her how to fight and slowly the nightmares ebbed away. Her father hired a guard to teach her how to fight. She also found herself a flight teacher, knowing that if she could be fast and agile in the air it would be to her advantage as well. So she trained hard, on top of her regular "princess" classes. Even though she is princess she fought to become a part of the Guard as well, so she trains any new recruits that they may have. She was given the lanterns that she can use to start the warning fires around the kingdom if an enemy attacks.
