Lincoln is quite the grumpy dog and doesn't tolerate any nonsense, he usually does things alone because "if you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself". This song takes him back to his younger days though, when he started working as a small pup taking jobs that humans offered to toughen himself up, it was a much simpler time and he enjoyed what he did, it made him happy to know that he could contribute even if it was for a little while. Since he wasn't that old his innocence was still with him, therefore he was pretty gullible so he ended up being fooled and tricked a couple of times by those with bad intentions... His heart hardened with age and he keeps to himself most of the time, only opening up to a select few... On the bright side however, he's athletic and strong so he's a good dog to call if you need any help ^^

Although tough and gruff, Lincoln is a very good father, he makes sure Jasper knows what he needs to get through life and helps him in achieving his dreams, he's protective of him but not enough to make him become dependent and uses whatever opportunity he can to have father-son bonding moments. He pretends he doesn't care much for the group's other dogs but deep down, it's obviously a lie, he's learned to get used to them over time. The dog he observes the most though, is Rusty, he reminds him of himself when he was younger and it worries him because he thinks he could get tricked just like he did, so he sometimes comes up to him and tells him a few useful tips on analysing dog and human behaviors to detect any ill intent, he can see that Rusty doesn't really get why he's telling him this but he hopes that he's keeping it in mind, as an extra precaution he has Jasper watch over him whenever strangers visit as he's way less trustworthy of new folk he doesn't know.

It was a regular work day, Lincoln had to make his usually daily deliveries to people's homes and he thought this would be no different, until he got to where Nike was. He at first wasn't too up to having a chit-chat with her but she got his attention when she mentioned she was a racer, he too, was fast so he was immediately interested in learning more about her. The talk was quick since he had to go back to what he was doing, not before running with her though, he wanted to see how well she did as a racer and... She won, he wasn't too surprised that he lost but he definitely was impressed, after it was over he bid her goodbye and carried on with his work. What he didn't see coming was that he'd go deliver packages to her often, it made sense since she was a racer now that he thinks about it, either way, it meant he got to see her once a week and for once he was happy to do his job, with each time he went their friendship grew, perhaps his heart could let down its guard for her, he was sure she wouldn't hurt him.
