Neya

• (probably illegal) research lab that believes neyaphem are most reliable mutants (for use as weapons) as they seem to completely dominate human genes; additionally, even neyaphem with little to no powers are still more powerful and agile than humans. rather than selectively breeding humans for mutations that may not pass on (in some cases, children have entirely different mutations to their parents), researchers are trying to breed neyaphem/human offspring to weaponize
• through a small sample of neyaphem dna, scientists have worked tirelessly to create zygotes with bits and pieces of human, mutant, and neyaphem dna. the zygotes were incubated in the lab--essentially as test tube babies. only one of their first few tries of this method lived. 
  • eventually, they decide that the zygotes may have better success if incubated within living hosts, and spread the eggs through unknowing victims--people and families struggling to have children of their own. so far, none of these batches have taken either. some scientists want to use the first neyaphem as the incubator, but general consensus is that they can't risk the safety and life of the only success they have.
• the neyaphem/human hybrid was named neya, simply a short version of her race's name. not knowing she is a member of the neyaphem race, she doesn't understand the lack of care or creativity that has gone into her name
• neya has lived in the research lab for her entire life and is forbidden from leaving
• neya's treatment from the scientists in the lab varies; some are kind and treat her almost as if they are her parents; some are very cold and treat her only as an experiment
• there are many areas of the lab that neya does not have the clearance to enter--specifically the portions focused on zygote creation. in truth, neya does not even know the true purpose of the lab.
• neya has her own room that she is allowed to decorate as she chooses (however, only with what she has on hand and what she can get scientists to bring or offer her). she is allowed internet access but it is restricted and heavily monitored
• neya believes herself to be an ordinary mutant with a very physical mutation (such as mystique). information on neyaphems and mutants of that sort (such as nightcrawler) are restricted from her. 

The Neyaphem are an ancient race of demonic-appearing mutants led by Azazel. They are a group of mutants from biblical times who live in the Brimstone Dimension which they were exiled to by the Cheyarafim, a group of mutants with an angelic appearance.

Typical racial features include pointed ears, prehensile tail, fangs, fur, and wings, but not every member displays all these features. Common skin colors are blue and white, though red has also been shown, most notably with Azazel, their leader. 

Neyaphem have only three digits (including an opposable thumb) on each hand. They also have only 2 toes on each foot, each longer than an ordinary human's. they have prehensile tail's, approximately 3'6" long, which can support their own weight. Neyaphem have pointed ears and pronounced fang-like canine teeth. Their spines are more flexible than an ordinary human being's, allowing them to spend much of their time in a semi-crouching position without damaging their posture and enabling them to perform contortionist-like feats. Most Neyaphem have their body almost entirely covered with a fine colored fur.
