Remi.
Beginnings are hard. Who can say what is memory or dream when time clouds the mind? Remi remembers the love of a family, but with no faces or names to point to who they may have been, they too can be made of mists. And everyone, even a wyld orphan, knows you can't trust the mists.
Trapped within a Domain of Dread, Remi doesn't know if there really is anything better out there, or if his hopes are just another cruel trick of the land. He wants to believe. So when outsiders show up and talk about something more, Remi wants nothing more than to see them proved right. Even if it means only supporting them from the shadows lest they decide not to trust him like everyone else.

A hexblood of curious origin, Remi's fey nature manifests in his batlike qualities. From his arms and torso extend huge, functional bat wings, accented by his large pointed ears and small tail. While he doesn't consider himself a bat, he does consider the small creatures of the Barovian wilds family in the absence of his own.

Hex Magic
You can cast the disguise self and hex spells with this trait once per long rest. You can also cast these spells using spell slots.
Fey Flight
You have a natural flight speed equal to your walking speed (45ft). To use this speed, you can’t be wearing medium or heavy armor.
Shadow Arts
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can use your ki to duplicate the effects of certain spells. As an action, you can spend 2 ki points to cast darkness, darkvision, pass without trace, or silence without providing material components. Additionally, you gain the minor illusion cantrip if you don’t already know it.
Shadow Step
At 6th level, you gain the ability to step from one shadow into another. When you are in dim light or darkness, as a bonus action you can teleport up to 60ft to an unoccupied space you can see that is also in dim light or darkness. You then have advantage on the first melee attack you make before the end of the turn.
Remi is a kind soul trapped in a land that thrives on the suffering of such souls. Fearful of strangers who might do him harm for what he looks like, Remi keeps to himself out of necessity. He people watches from afar, however, imagining what life in the villages might be like and sketching the people he sees out and about most often. With his limited magic, he can see for himself from time to time, but the fear of being caught and labeled a monster keeps his vists to society few and far between.
Sprig (little bat)
It is just a little bat. It visits over the seasons, keeps coming back. Not a lot of things come back. It is nice to have something that comes back, like a friend.
Stella (shadow girl)
She is like me? She knows the shadows, doesn't fear them like others do. Madame Eva says she will help us... I don't know with what, but she is better now with us.
Ireena (kind lady)
She seems nice. She hunts out in the woods like the others, but she is not cruel. She appreciates the beauty of these lands. Kindness like hers... it does not often last.

Death clings to him. All the time. You can hear the screams, they follow him, they drive into your mind. He is the right hand of the devil. You cannot trust him.
