[   savage   ||   avaricious   ||   spiritual   ||   aloof   ||   barbaric    ]

Ajendra has been alone as far as he can remember - no family, no friends, only the bitterly cold wilderness of the Himalayan Mountains. He never even thought to venture from his inhospitable home until he began encountering climbers and adventurers, many of whom he ended up scaring or even killing and eating. But through his limited interactions, he learned a few things. First of all, that there was a whole world that he lived on top of, making him feel like a king. Secondly, that the world down there revolved around the shiny rocks that he had been collecting his whole life - gold.

Unbeknownst to Ajendra, he had accumulated an absolute fortune of gold. There was a gold rush throughout the Himalayas, but most miners were limited by altitude. However, Ajendra, accustomed to the highest altitudes, had access to tremendous amounts of gold.

As adventurers and miners began encountering Ajendra, he became somewhat of a figure of legend. A mythical, voracious beast who lived in the snow, threatening all who encountered him.

The truth is a bit more mundane. Of course, he does pose a threat to travelers, but he tends to prefer to watch them from afar.

➥ Vivek - Vivek owns a teahouse in the Mustang region, high up in the desert parts of the mountain. It was once an inhospitable place, but has recently become one of Nepal's most popular tourist destinations. A curious Ajendra stumbled upon Vivek when exploring close to the settlements at the base of his mountain. Vivek tried to communicate with him, but was surprised to find that Ajendra spoke no language and was little more than a wild animal. Vivek began leaving food out for him. Ajendra, in exchange, began leaving piles of gold, understanding it was valuable to those who lived outside of his mountain. Vivek was completely surprised. He had lived in poverty his whole life, and was suddenly rich. However, in an attempt to hide his sudden wealth from neighbors and family, he chose to keep it mostly a secret. He still opens his teahouse to tourists, and he continues to leave out food sometimes when he knows Ajendra is in the area. He has tried to teach Ajendra language, but Ajendra tends to stay out of sight and refuses to communicate. However, despite their lack of conversations, Vivek is Ajendra's only real friend.
