Mona Fragola
“My name's Mona! Hehe, I'm so cute, aren't I?” —Mona to Liliana. SPOILER WARNING: Part 3 through 6 Spoiler details may follow. Mona Fragola (モナフラゴラ, Mona Furagora) is the younger cousin of Marcelo Panettone and the childhood friend of Liliana Limone. Mona is a seemingly innocent character whose childishly selfish actions end up having a huge butterfly effect on the lives of her classmates Liliana, Marcelo and Lucca; she seems to care very little about this, and thusly is called a "she-devil" by Marcelo on many occasions. Mona is a Stand user and uses her Pink Triangle to create clouds of fragrance that appeals her to anyone she meets; she can also create prisons with the fragrance, the scent and density eventually overpowering opponents to the point of death. APPEARANCEMona is a woman of average height, with a "formless" build and lanky limbs. Her hair is dead straight with blunt bangs stopping just above her eyes, and held with a Lolita-style frilled ribbon behind her head. A few stray freckles dot her nose and under her cheeks. Her eyes are a chocolate brown, and she wears thick eyeliner and mascara to give the illusion of an incredibly thick top lash while keeping the lower lashes sparce. She generally dresses in dark academia fashions, with a liking for puff-sleeved blouses and school shoe styled flats, usually with knee high socks. She always wears earrings that match her hair ribbon, and often ties similar, more muted re-imaginings around her wrists as well. She is often depicted with a satchel adorned with pins, as well as a black lace parasol. Mona always seems to be smiling, regardless of what is going on around her; to strangers it makes her appear approachable, but to those who know her, her expression sparks disgust. PERSONALITY“You're always such a loser, Marcelo. Can't you just die, or whatever?” —Mona to Marcelo. Mona initially appears to be an adorably bubbly and excitable young woman, loving nothing more than to be around friends. However this happiness is something she expresses constantly, even while she's saying awful things, so it's more than likely just a developed trait to keep people around her; something she, as a diagnosed narcissist, very much insists she needs. Mona keeps people around her solely as "objects", liking to keep people she finds pretty or interesting around like dolls and throwing them away when she gets bored of them. She comes from an incredibly spoilt background, warping her worldview to the point that she does truly seem to believe that the world revolves around her somewhat. Her cutesy looks also drew people to her when she was a child (namely Liliana Limone), but she appeared to upset her "friends" so quickly that she'd have to form a new group by the next week. In the prologue of Rosetta's backstory, The Ringing Roses, Mona is heavily implied to only befriend Liliana so she could feel as though she was "helping" someone; Liliana's brain was notably behind that of her peers due to mental illness, so Mona failed to notice that her "friend" truly did think of her as their best friend, thus when Mona split the bond off when she became bored, Liliana destroyed their school with her recently awakened Stand ability. Mona brings this up to Rosetta during their meeting in The Ringing Roses: Revisited, seeming to be quite uncaring about anything she caused; she seems confused as to why Rosetta even gets angry about the topic despite her detailed description of what had happened. Her relationship with Marcelo is disturbed to the point that he seems to dislike even saying Mona's name, referring to her as "that woman" whenever she comes up. He entirely blames Mona's departure for Liliana's loss of grip on reality and manipulation into becoming a Passione courtesan, and even states that the men that killed Lucca were ex-friends of Mona's that potentially wanted to scare Marcelo into getting her to return to Italy. He takes Rosetta in as his own as a final apology to Liliana for letting Mona get off as lightly as she did. In Stone Ocean, Mona's daughter Dolce is sent to Green Dolphin Street Prison after committing what could easily be ruled as a killing out of self-defense; Mona refuses to attend her daughter's trial, instead deciding to travel outside of the country so she couldn't be involved. Once she returns and has her Stand disk taken by Pucci, Dolce retrieves it and smashes it into pieces instead of returning it, stating that "a woman like her doesn't deserve such a special thing". ABILITIES♡ Pink Triangle♡ A Stand born of Mona's narcissism; it draws people to her and with enough exposure, will force those who have inhaled its scent to perceive Mona as a godlike being. It can also be brought into an almost solid form to create a shield or a crushing cage.
