Fun Fact:

When Anu’s third eye (forehead) is open, the fourth eye on his back is closed- and vice versa! The eye on his back symbolizes him watching his back and reflecting on the past, while his forehead eye represents him looking towards the future, beyond the present.

ʜᴏʙʙɪᴇs:

☆ Napping; Anu absolutely loves sleeping. He can sleep anywhere, at any time- and if you argue otherwise, he will be pleased to prove you wrong. Sometimes, he doesn't even intend to fall asleep in such peculiar places, he just ends up falling asleep there due to his narcolepsy. To read more on the specifics of his condition, please see the "Physical Weakness" section down below.

ғʀɪᴇɴᴅs:

Onuris; Anu’s adoptive younger brother. After being woken up from a couple decades long nap, Anu was surprised to find an Alkarnabi with a similar color palette to his own. He decided on the spot that Uris MUST be one of his descendants, and thus dubbed him Anu's official new younger brother. Uris did not argue with this occurrence, as he was honored to be chosen for such a close relationship with a literal walking piece of history. However, Uris soon found that Anu does not like teaching about all the details of his time, even if it's for his brother's students.

☆ "Writing in the Sand"

☆ Anu can merge his body and consciousness into any book! When he enters a book, his figure can be seen in chibi form on the pages, drawn in golden ink.

☆ To enter a book, Anu must first put the book on the ground, then open it to the desired page he wishes to enter. After doing so, he moves to stand on the page; he only needs one foot on the desired page, the opposite foot often stands on the opposite page just for convenience. Once Anu's body is completely over the book, his body falls down into the pages, disappearing into a splash of glittering gold sand; the visual is similar to pencil diving into water, except the water is replaced with gold sand.

☆ While inside a book, he can move around, but he cannot interact with any other ink on the pages; his golden ink overlays the original ink of the book. He can also travel to any other page, as long as the page is bound to the book's spine. If a page he is currently on is removed from the book, it forces him back into real life; when this happens, sand pours out of the torn page until his body is reformed. If his ink form on a page is ripped or damaged in some way, it does not affect his true physical form.

☆ The best word to describe Anu is... lackadaisical. His motto would most likely be something along the lines of, “we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it”.
☆ His attitude is very nonchalant, brushing off serious matters with a joking, borderline flirty attitude; however, his actions often contradict his own words in those kinds of situations. While he jokes and makes light of serious subjects, he often only does so to calm those around him; he has a very sharp mind (surprisingly) and most likely already has a plan in mind on how to solve said issue, thus he shows no worry at all when addressing it.

☆ Essentially, Anu has the vibe of someone who pretends he doesn’t care about anything and acts useless, when in reality, he cares a great deal and has excellent leadership qualities that he never displays.

☆ While Anu does love praising his own looks and bragging about his many skills, he actually doesn’t reveal much about himself. Everything he says is superficial and shallow, and when pestered for deeper information, he will smoothly change the subject. He’s an expert at running away from his problems, and has no intention of changing his ways.

☆ He does not like endings.

ᴇᴍᴏᴛɪᴏɴᴀʟ ᴡᴇᴀᴋɴᴇss:

☆ Anu has a tendency to run from his problems, letting himself forget bad memories in the haze of dream land. When his parents forced him into the role of Pharaoh, a role he didn't think he was prepared for, he ran away to the royal library, sealing himself into a book and sleeping for decades to escape the responsibilities he knew he couldn't handle. After being excavated years later, Anu refused to go back to his homeland, knowing his parents' graves, as well as his own grave, awaited him.

- For context, Anu's homeland was an ancient, unnamed Aurusalkar city that had been abandoned when they all left for the Void Dimension. Once Alkarnabi began appearing around the world, some few Alkarnabi rebuilt the civilization to honor the Aurusalkar that came before them, naming it "Atfal Altiniy". These select few Alkarnabi who brought new life to the Atfal became the "royal family". Pharaohs were chosen based on their relation to the royal family, as well as displaying Aurusalkar traits (such as metallic horns, etc...). Anu comes into the picture a few generations later, when he was chosen to become Pharaoh when he turned 18.

- After Anu disappeared without a word, his parents presumed he had been killed by those who feared his potential; at the time, he was the golden child of the royal family (both literally and figuratively), so everyone had high hopes for the new Pharaoh. He was written into Alkarnabi history as being a wonderful, powerful leader who was taken too soon; it disgusts him. Two generations after Anu disappeared, the city of Atfal began dying out, with its citizens moving to other places that were being modernized, thus leaving behind the city to become ruins once again.

ᴘʜʏsɪᴄᴀʟ ᴡᴇᴀᴋɴᴇss:

☆ Narcolepsy; every single day without fail, Anu succumbs to his narcolepsy at exactly 2200 GMT+2, which is about 1800 EST. He sleeps for exactly 8 hours, then immediately wakes back up as if nothing happened. No matter what he's doing, he will fall asleep at that exact time like perfect clockwork. Any attempt to wake him up is in vain.

☆ See "Emotional Weakness" section above for prequel information.

☆ Not long after Carnis’ artifact was discovered in Atfal, the ancient Aurusalkar ruins, Onuris was able to unearth an ancient library with his excavation team. While within the ruins, his eyes caught sight of a perfectly intact book amongst a sea of decaying pages and worn away novels. Since the book appeared to be new, Uris wondered how it got there- since it MUST have been placed recently and not been present when the library was originally abandoned.

☆ Uris approached the book and grasped onto its spine, instantly feeling a jolt of magic flood through his system. Within an instant, golden sand began to leak from the book's pages. Uris watched in great confusion as mounds and mounds of sand continued to pour out of the book, until it finally stopped. Once the sand stopped pouring, the sand pile shifted as if something were underneath it. Before Uris could even process what was happening, the sand pile suddenly moved- turning into the shape of a dark pelted Alkarnabi; he was moving as if he was merely shaking off a bit of inconvenient sand, as if he wasn't just completely submerged under a mountain of the suffocating grains. This is the moment Uris met Anu for the first time.

☆ After their original meeting, Uris brought Anu’s book back to Tobias’ school, intending to show him off to his class and be able to have a QnA with someone who was actually present during ancient times! However, he quickly discovered that Anu is not as enthusiastic about learning as he is, as well as the fact that Anu loves to sleep at the most inconvenient of times.
