Calm, collected, Kyuuto has an eye for enemies and a sharp tongue to follow. He is rarely seen smiling and was always teased by his fiancee to have such a face he is considerate and still respectable. Another samurai, adopted by the head family in the village, he holds honour and expectations. Kyuuto is Tsuyoshi's best friend, and rival. Despite being younger than Tsuyoshi, he often takes the lead when they fight together or go out on errands. Tsuyoshi calls him Mori
His fiancee was Tsuyoshi's younger sister, who was killed in an attack by bandits.
