dudes name is Savis Strange, and the ghost is named Odd Todd
He got shot, but ended up making a pact with Todd in order to keep on 'living'. When really Todd just possessed their body and kept Savis's spirit attached to the vessel, all the while trying to keep the vessel alive. But slowly, it's starting to turn into a corpse.
I think my dude would live in the main city then. But travel around a lot, maybe he has like a side job of 'ghost hunting' but maybe has a main job like at a grocery store?? And the reason he lives without family is maybe because they all thought he was crazy and once he 'died' they still think he's dead so he moved elsewhere and is just trying to live a quiet life until he can figure out a way to reverse his 'death' issue.
