This guy comes off as highly impossible to approach and standoffish. He puts in a full-blown effort to keep others from getting too close to him. He has an extreme distrust of just about everyone and takes everything he hears with a grain of salt unless he was there himself. If one were to try and engage him regardless, he tends to actively try and end the conversation or tell them they’re not worth his time. He enjoys being alone and doing things on his own. All he needs is to trust in himself. It causes him to come off as fairly arrogant in that he believes in his own abilities and that he is somehow superior over everyone else. Fairly snarky in manners too.

He has his good points though. Definitely being someone you can trust in to get the job done, he comes off as self-sufficient. He needs little to no help. While dabbling a bit into assassinations and other sorts, he learned to be quick on his feet. Cunning and a quick thinker, just about anything he can do on his own. Very strong-willed too. There is a lot he has had to deal with in life. Much of it he had to deal with with a heavy heart and a strong will to survive.

Born between a half-demon and a human, Viral is considered a half-demon with more human blood than demon. From the moment he was born and for many years to come, he looked like a normal human at first with very small demon characteristics. It took longer than most for his horns to begin to grow out, his round ears to turn into sharp and pointed ones, and so on. Due to his physical appearance growing up, bullying was a constant in his life. Always to be the one immediately picked on, cursed at and told that he didn’t belong. It was impossible for Viral to find a friend without it being a demon who just wanted to use him. His parents did little to nothing to help as well. His mother happened to be the ruler of their snowy little world, so Viral saw little of her to begin with. His father however was the one who kept around the most—but it made no difference. All his promises that the kids would eventually stop pestering him, that others would begin to acknowledge Viral in due time… it just wasn’t enough for him.

At some point he hit a breaking point. The older he became, the more vicious the threats. The more painful the beatings he dealt with. It had all bottled up inside of him and a terrible incident occurred where Viral lost himself. He had gone into a berserk rampage where he believed he had murdered just about anyone in sight, including his own parents. When he had finally gotten ahold of himself, the situation that he had brought upon himself caused him to panic. There was no one to help him now and surely he would be seen as a dog that needed to be put down. And so he fled from his world. To many a different world until a fateful encounter with who would become his master.

The many centuries after that were a blur. Viral had become his new master’s servant, a head vassal to the many other servants that lived in those big castle walls. He absolutely hated it at first, refusing to do much of anything. But after a couple of punishments, he was quickly whipped into shape of doing what he needed to do. Slowly but surely, Viral began to warm up to the idea of cleaning and cooking… eventually learning how to fight and become a body guard of sorts too. It helped that the demons were friendlier here and more willing to help, so long as they never found out his true origins. After even more centuries, Viral would soon learn the role of being a babysitter too, as his master eventually had a child that would soon be his heir.

Viral took care of the whelp as the kid’s main caretaker. He tried not to get close with the kid at first, but it was impossible. They were around each other almost all of the time. And once the kid was old enough, they grew even closer as Viral taught them the ways of fighting. They became inseparable, to a point where Viral began to wonder where his true loyalties lied in this family. Then came a time though where the younger master wished to leave his home and explore the world. He had become impossible to control and refused to be the heir to the throne. On the master’s demands however… Viral had been commanded to go along with the younger master and make sure he didn’t get into much trouble. Perhaps even convince the kid to come back home at a later point in his life. Viral of course obliged… and soon the pair would spend their lives wandering from place to place.
