scars: Yes. purply-pink in color, whether dark or light. The important one: horizontal slash across nose. Optional ones: various scattered scarring, knife/bullet wounds, healed stitches, top scars, etc.
piercings: None; or maybe an optional tiny silver hoop on one ear. He's not morally opposed to them or anything, just never bothered to get any.
Tattoos: Yes, a few. Faded black ink, semi-stylized. A large one: outstretched wings over upper back & shoulders. Tiny ones: ferns, thorns, serpents, knives, playing cards. Other ideas: [pinterest board]

Luke is a bit of a hedonist; he has to be careful to keep his whims on a leash. A cheapskate that likes the finer things in life. Money burns a hole in his pocket.
He's stubborn, in the sense of being determined; it's hard for him to resist a challenge, whether that comes in the form of 'a puzzle' or 'a threat' -- but he can simultaneously be impatient; preferring to just swoop in and "figure it out" than sit and come up with a detail-heavy plan just for everything to go sideways anyway. He's a quick thinker and light on his feet, but experience has still bitten him on the ass enough times that he should know better.
Has a screwball sense of humor. Goofy as hell amongst good company. Really gets a kick out of slapstick, irony, and bad puns. Likes fucking with people. He's also a hopeless romantic and a shameless flirt. Finds himself all-too-intrigued by "difficult" personalities.

Nimble, light on his feet, a regular Fred Astaire. He's dabbled in a little bit of every style, but seems particularly drawn to tap and salsa. Similarly to his penchant for sleight of hand, this activity is something he started doing for fun that ended up proving quite useful when going toe-to-toe with strong-but-slow opponents.

- Humans and monsters live amongst each other in a seedy limbo/underworld. You wake up there one day and make the best of what you get.
- The characters I deal with are generally confined to one "shard" of spacetime which takes the vague shape of a 1940s-esque city, with some anachronistic technology smuggled in from other locales.
I'll have to make this a "nice" chunk of paragraphs later but basically:
- Luke wasn't born, per se, more like "spat up by a primordial maelstrom of pure chaos". This is common for monsters in his world.
- Grew up with a collection of fellow parentless kids in an overcrowded and underfunded group home. surviving in this environment necessitated and fostered skills he relies on to this day. -- but it wasn't all bad, he'll say, cherishing a few good memories.
- After that, there's like 1000000000 alternate timelines of his story so its really hard to describe literally anything else abt his life in a quick way LOL.
- Generally - he ends up working for smugglers in some capacity as a young adult; assigned as apprentice to a woman named Tigs. He idolizes her and she would squish him like a bug if she could.
- In one major AU his life is royally fucked by a man named Neil. More on that later. :)
