he used to be a silly goofy little boy in his hometown causing trouble and being a dumbass, just generally wreaking havoc on the town and the sheriff.

one day when he was walking around town an ox charged through the streets straight towards the sheriff's elderly mother and Diego, almost by instinct, leaped in front of the charging bull and steered it by its horns away from the sheriffs mother. "you saved the sheriff's mother" they all exclaimed. the sheriff gifted him a special pair of boots as thanks for saving his mother. Diego decided on that day he would be better and stop causing trouble and picked up an apprenticeship at the local blacksmith.

as time passed he began getting bored of his mundane life, nothing was exciting anymore and he wanted to experience something interesting once again, like when he saved the sheriff's mother, so he packed up his things, said goodbye and left town on an adventure to all around, just kill bad things for the sake of killing bad things and getting praised for it.
