The town of Rohan has been fighting the threat of werewolves since decades now, no one daring to wander in the woods anymore. To make the problem worse, a couple villages nearby need periodical trades of food and other necessities from Rohan, the only town nearby them, in order to sustain themselves. Evacuating the villagers to Rohan doesn't seem to be an option; the time it was tried, it was a massacre. So, until a more efficient solution is found, the special Rohan warriors called R.E.D. (Rohan's Elite Defense) have made their new goal not only to defend the town by werewolves...but also to travel within the woods in order to bring the required assistance to the villages.

Thane was born in a family with high expectations of him, due to being the younger brother of two well-known R.E.D.s, and was basically forced to take on the RED military training and to later join its forces at a young age (14). He quickly ranked up to make sure his name was known because of his own efforts, and not because of his family, but in the long run ended up being a bit too self-confident and impulsive. This new attitude of his brought him to lose his job at the age of 21, because of impulsively slaying a werewolf without realizing there was a girl there too, and blinding one of her eyes on accident.
The RED lead though (Hilda), considered his talent wasted like this, and accepted to bring him along with her during her missions. After a werewolf in his fully human form tried asking for hospitality in Rohan, tired of the life as bloodlusting creature, was slayed, the two took interest in actually going and see how the werewolf community really lives and thinks, to see if they can come to an agreement that doesn't involve anymore deaths. On the way, Hilda and Thane got separated, but he was rescued by Daya, the girl who lost her eye to him. Since she was also interested in a peaceful solution and seemed to know her way around werewolves, Thane decided to bring her along, and even though he's amazed by the fact she so promptly nursed him despite the accident, he still can't help but feeling bad around her, like he's subconsciously blaming her as the cause he lost his job.
