dartpaw is a tom in crestclan, a tree dwelling clan in a post nuclear apocalypse future in which clans have taken on different mutations to survive in their territories. cats in his clan have abnormally long toes and flexible ankles for climbing

dartpaw is obnoxious, impulsive, and prone to fits of rage. hes deeply insecure about himself and his place in the clan.

he was born to dawnstripe alongside his two siblings, dartpaw and silkpaw. they were raised believing that their father was a dead crestclan cat named acorntuft, though their real father was a rushclan cat named shadowrush. thrushtail, one of dawnstripes close friends, helped to raise them and became dawnstripes mate by the time they were apprentices, and the three of them consider him to be a father to them. dartpaw was the first of his siblings to figure out the truth of his parentage but kept it to himself, as he didnt want his clanmates to think less of him than they already do
