Hector Ocampo

Before Hector was a ranger for hire, he was a kid with humble beginnings. His family was poor, and the place he lived was attacked by either bandits or feral ghouls on a fairly regular basis. The small settlement he lived on was run by a corrupt inner circle. Hector's father always seemed to be on the wrong end of deals with this inner circle, causing the family to be in debt most of the time. All of this didn't sit well with Hector as he grew up, his father "disappearing" once he was 12. He knew better than to ask what happened and figured he'd never see him again.

And he didn't. As he grew up he began being the main worker of his household, being the oldest sibling and his mother unable to work due to her declining health. He worked at a bar as a dishwasher at age 14 and worked there until he was 18. His mother died soon after his 18th birthday, causing him a lot of grief. He would lash out at his siblings, yelling at them and blaming them for what happened. Eventually, his younger sister yelled back at him that she didn't ever wanna see him again.

And that's the night he left. Those words were the last straw and he left in the middle of the night while the others were asleep. The next few years for him were a blur as he traveled and picked up small jobs that nobody wanted to do. He armed himself with an old rifle and eventually worked on his way to becoming a for-hire ranger. Once he finally became one he felt free. That he had a purpose. He's done many jobs and killed many people, but doesn't seem to be bothered by this fact.

He seems to be happy. And he is… For the most part.
