Satoru is an overly serious individual, usually too caught up in the moment to realize when someone is trying to be humorous. He tends to have little patience for those who don’t take things as seriously as he does, though that’s mostly because he sees it as wasting time. He also has little patience for etiquette (not to be confused with discipline). He doesn’t enjoy sugar coating things for politeness nor to spare feelings, thus he is rather blunt (lacks tact). He is the type of person who doesn’t waste time worrying over how he comes across to others. Certainly not the person you want as a diplomat.

Satoru is a man of action, and unafraid to step in and do the dirty work; especially when that’s what needs to be done to get things moving. He works best behind the scenes, where he can move unhampered by the attention of others. He has no desire for his accomplishments to be recognized by others, just seeing the results is enough.

He overestimates himself. And for the most part, he’s rarely called on it. But when he does get called on it, shit gets bad fast. He is stubborn and set in his own strict outlook on life. He is so caught up in his own code that when things catch him by surprise, he fails to react adequately.

He tends to come off cold or callous, Satoru has never quite become comfortable with expressing the warmer or more positive aspects of his personality/feelings. He does have them, though. Somewhere.

Satoru does dirty work to survive, so he's not really in the habit of being picky with his jobs. Hey, money talks. He's still not entirely happy when Damien brings Daniel to him.

Hunting dangerous wildlife—sure, someone's got to do it, and it's for the greater good.

Roughing up some unlucky SOB—not among his favorite of jobs, but a guy's got to eat.

Bodyguard detail—a common enough occurrence.

 

Following some half-baked alcolyte to forbidden ruins because said acolyte is hearing voices?—Add this job to the list of reason Satoru should really just strangle Damien in his sleep.

But here they are, planning to head out into the waste. In pursuit of some failed prophecy or some shit. And Satoru is pretty sure he's not getting paid enough for this.

 

• In the past I've used the Kanji 藤森 悟 to write Satoru's name, although his current story universe isn't really on Earth so it's sort of a detail that's fallen out of use.
• Accustomed to using whatever weapon is at hand, he does tend to favor an old-fashioned baseball bat
• A past version of this character was obsessed with instant cup noodles, the equivalent in this version is that he prioritizes ease and speed with meals and doesn't care very much about taste
• Is actually blind in his right eye
• His scar layout tends to change from version to version. For this version I actually deleted a scar.
