A boy in the middle of his emo phase who runs away from his home town to attempt wilderness survival.
A little small for his age and on the lither side. He has straight black hair cut in a short bob, and dark brown eyes. He tans very easily. He dresses in simple, comfortable clothes, most often wearing a hoodie, sneakers and a tshirt.
A rather odd child who prefers spending his time alone, Luka is uncomfortable living in his hometown near other people and having to attend school. He spends a lot of his days daydreaming and in his free time, likes to explore the outwardsmost places of his town, spending a lot of time on it's walls looking at the forest beyond their borders. He is smart and easily gets good grades at school and, aware of it, considers himself fit for living by himself in the wild, persuaded he has the knowledge and skill for it.
Luka's biological parents were from the lost generation wave of explorers who left their home towns for the great outdoors. He was not born in his town, but moved there when he was very young, too young to have much memories of his life before. Both his parents did not stay and went missing. For most of the life he remembers, he was raised and cared for by his town, especially the woman who teaches his school and her entourage, who he sees as close family.
Luka isn't lonely or bothered by his familial situation, which isn't uncommon for children his age, but feels frustrated in his town. After years of exploring the outskirts, he decides to leave in secret, planning a short journey on foot into the wild with no clear destination. He is caught by C.K., an actual wilderness explorer, concerned for his safety alone in the woods. Where he expects her to act like the adults he knows at home and bring him back with a slight scolding, she instead makes him tag along for a short while to satisfy his curiosity and educate him about life in the wild.
