Mood works at a VHS rental store somewhere nearby, sitting quietly at the register, stacks of paranormal magazines surrounding her and a well stocked bowl of halloween candy for herself and the costumers at any time of the year.
She will wordlessly direct all who enter to the horror movie, eyes never leaving an old tattered and unlabeled tape set apart from the rest, it seems she's been waiting for someone to rent it.

Mood is an intensely watchful and quiet cat, with a very morbid curiosity, and enjoys watching strange misfortune befall people. While she never directly causes it, she'll often point people in the ever so slightly wrong direction just to watch them get lost in the ghost ridden woods or by the river stalked by some swamp creature.
Is fascinated by the idea of curses and monsters, not fearing them herself and kicking her heels and giggling when she sees someone dealing with a haunted house or some other otherworldly event. Very much a busybody in that sense, always wanting to know people's darkest secrets and worries.
This, however, doesn't make Mood an entirely unpleasant cat to be around once you get over how unnerving she can be. She is a good, quiet, listener and enjoys finding people with similar taste in horror or a love of autumn and halloween.

Mood has the fur length of a domestic shorthair cat with pink paws, ears, and a black nose. Her tail is incredibly long and often in a loop or two. Her bottom half is orange and striped, while the white of her upper half looks like she had a can of white paint tossed at her. Small black dot eyebrows and intense teal eyes are her most expressive features. Light often reflect red in them for unknown reasons.

The small town Mood lives in is often frequented by ghost hunting shows and tourists with an interest in the paranormal, although they never leave with much except for small anecdotes told by the locals. Agreed to be, and labeled, 'spooky', but with no concrete evidence to prove any of the semi-frequent reports of strange things happening in the woods.
Mood works at a dusty vhs rental store, sat alone in a crossroads, Halloween decorations still left up from last year and paint peeling off the sides of the little building. It houses a handful of cursed tapes that Mood finds herself incredibly invested in trying to rent out, although no one seems too interested.
She can tell they're cursed, of course, as she's had her own few paranormal run ins, such as finding a small glowing blue portal by the side of the road one night, and after poking her head in, found herself with the ability to see ghosts. She's also fairly certain the town is less than dimensionally stable, time travel and world hopping is something she'd attest to.
Roommate
She's certain he's a blorbo from her shows...
for now he's bring the dead to life in their basement and she thinks its pretty funny and pretty cool, even. Enjoys watching him work and seeing what horrors he creates. Maybe even leave the door open and accidently unleash them into the town.
Friend
He runs her favorite bakery and because of that she'd protect him with her life.
Knows about his interest in ghost hunting and will sometimes show him where he can find some harmless ghosts to investigate while they eat sugar cookies.
