One sees while the other speaks.

They were the twin gods of water. It was their duty to rejuvenate the land with rain, and they commanded the currents and the storms. They were equal, and together their power was devastating. Entire armadas crumbled underneath their might, lands flooded to the point where no one could tell what it used to be. They were a team, and were never seen apart.
That is until one of them was killed. Kawa had been tricked by pirates, who took advantage of their then mortal state to defeat them. Kaiyou was devastated. They did not know what to do without them, and eventually, they too died. Not in battle, but of heart break. They could not live alone, and they grew weaker by the day, until they withered away. With no one to take their spot, the other gods were forced to bring in a substitute of their own.
