Profile

Late one winter night, there was a small child desperately trying to sell matches in the street. Afraid of returning home and being beaten by his father, young Fiyero opted to light the matches to feel even a small shred of warmth. To his shock, with each match he lit he gained insight into a mysterious other world. A beautiful place, made of lively dancing flames. Upon nearing the end of his match supply, he was approached by a being who explained there was a choice he must make. Either Fiyero would die from the cold upon the final match extinguishing, ORRR he could allow the being to join him in his world, and in becoming one with this creature, Fiyero would survive. The boy agreed, quite enjoying his short forays into this warm realm, and since then the two have been inseparable... Literally. Fiyero from then on lived on the fringe of society, often stealing what he needed to get by and setting fires for fun, y'know, the sort of activities that make you unwelcome just about anywhere. On his travels he eventually encountered the witch Baba Yaga, who owned the skull lantern which imprisoned his ifrit. The fire demon had escaped and jumped into Fiyero to remain safe, but eventually the witch caught up to him and demanded Fiyero return the demon. Fiyero explained this demon kept him alive and if they parted ways, he would die. The witch agreed to let him hold onto the demon, but in return he would be indebted, and do whatever task the witch asked of him.
