Astralcats

Astral cats are a species of magical black cats** (with a few rare exceptions) that have a small amount of dragon lineage. They commonly have dragon-like oddities like wings, spines, horns and prehensile tails. They are adept with magic and each cat has it's own special talent. Their name comes from their bright markings against their black coats, like a nebula against the black void of space.

Sometimes when Astral Cats are under extreme stress the draconic lineage causes the cats to mutate into an "Astral Beast". Atral Beasts are two to three times larger than an ordinary (house cat sized) astral cat with long, draconic, almost wolfish, muzzles slender legs and thin snake-ish bodies. They take on all of a dragon's bad traits such as being hot headed, ferocious and hording precious gems, or anything they deem precious.
