At a first glance, Leona comes off as quiet, deadpan and perhaps even socially unaware. Despite this, she is by no means antisocial - Leona makes an effort to be friendly and talkative, but simply values her own company. With that being said, she enjoys the company of her true friends, and can certainly be much more energetic around the right people. While her quiet nature may lead some to believe she is cowardly, this is far from the truth. Leona loves all things thrilling, such as skiing, horror, and a good live music performance.

RELAXED
Leona is laid back for the most part. She gets along well with most folk and doesn’t like to create bad blood or drama. It takes a lot to upset or anger her, and even when she is upset by anyone’s actions, she knows to keep it to herself.

Leona likes to spoil those she loves. She’s happy to buy gifts for people, lend money and offer support.
HARD WORKING
Leona has a strong work ethic. She can easily motivate herself to get any kind of work done and rarely procrastinates.
CREATIVE
Leona is rather creative and likes to bring artistic flair to any kind of project. A lot of her hobbies and interests centre around the arts, wether it be visual, written or auditory.

Leona doesn’t actually make an effort to avoid people, she just values her “alone time”. However, this often results in her not interacting as much with others as she should do.

Leona is just weird, bluntly put. She makes an effort to be polite and socially aware, but this always fails, and may even lead some to feel uncomfortable around her.
STUBBORN
Leona is stubborn to some degree. When it comes to projects especially, she likes to have things done her own way. While she’s not necessarily bossy, she does not like to have her artistic vision compromised.

ART
Leona is rather artistic - though art certainly isn’t her greatest ability, it’s a hobby she takes much pleasure in. She is both a traditional and digital artist, however her traditional works tend to be fine art paintings/drawings, while her digital pieces are more toony and stylised. Every now and then, she’ll also try her hand at animation.
HISTORY
History is a topic Leona takes much interest in. She enjoys reading about history, watching documentaries on the subject, and even visiting museums whenever possible. Modern history is perhaps her strongest point, but she also takes interest in earlier modules, particularly early European history.
COLLECTING MUSIC
While she isn’t a straight up audiophile, Leona is extremely passionate about collecting music, whether it be in vinyl or CD format. To her, a day at the record store is a day well spent, especially if it means getting her paws on something rare. She also enjoys collecting music themed memorabilia, whether it be band shirts or patches.
GUITAR
Leona plays both bass guitar and electric guitar. While she certainly isn’t the best musician, she can at least carry a tune. She owns two basses - one with a red/black sunburst design, and the other is a black warlock. However she only owns one six-string guitar, with a plain black design. She may be a musician in a band, either canonically or as an AU? It’s something I would have to think about more.
SKIING
As a lover of snow, the cold and the mountains, it only makes sense that Leona is also fond of skiing. Skiing is her best sport by a long shot, and is pretty much the only sport she takes very seriously. She has participated in competitions before, and has a few medals to boast.
DESIGN NOTES
- Can be drawn as anthro or feral.
- Her anthro form has HAIR, whereas her feral form has an actual MANE, covering up her chest.
- Has longish, shaggy fur, particularly around the elbows and lower legs.
- She can be drawn with dark grey claws, however they are optional.
- She can be drawn with “circular” eyebrows, however “line” eyebrows are usually preferred.
- Bear in mind that she has a more desaturated palette when wearing her “showtime” outfit.
FEATURES
BODY:
Leona has a fairly “standard” body shape. I often draw her flat chested, but this isn’t necessary. However, if you draw her with breasts, PLEASE draw her with clothing, not nude!
HAIR:
Leona’s hair is long, swoopy, and somewhat wavy. She’s often drawn with bangs and a “fringe” that cover some of her cheek and eyes. The mane on her feral looks similar, however she doesn’t have a fringe - rather, her forehead is fully exposed.
TAIL:
I’d prefer if you could draw her with a “medium length” tail, however this is not necessary. The tip of her tail has a brown gradient while her upper tail has spot markings. The fur on the end of her tail is swoopy and wavy, like her hair/mane.
MARKINGS:
The paler markings cover her “inner arms” and “inner” legs - please keep this in mind! She also has off white gradient markings on her hands and paws. She has spotted marking on her cheeks, shoulders, forearms, thighs and upper tail areas. I often draw her markings with a gradient effect, however this is not necessary. The only markings that MUST have the “gradient” effect are the paler markings in her arms and legs and the brown on the top of her tail.
PALETTE
WINTER PELT
- Leona has a winter pelt, however the “rules” regarding this pelt are somewhat strict, so do give these rules a read.
- You should ask me before you draw her winter pelt. The only time you can draw her winter pelt without asking for my approval beforehand is when she’s being drawn in an explicitly winter scene (snow, mountains, etc.) - and even then, it’s always a good idea to double check with me.
- She should only wear her winter outfits with her winter pelt! Even during Autumn, she has her regular, warmer coloured pelt.
- However, with that being said, you can still draw her wearing “winter” outfits while having her regular pelt.
MOODBOARD
TRIVIA
Despite being a lion, Leona isn’t all that much of a meat eater. Most meat is just gross to her.
Leona is probably what most people would refer to as an “old soul”. She likes cobbled streets, medieval architecture and ancient tales. She isn’t particularly keen on all aspects of modern life, particularly technology and modern-looking cities.
Leona is very interested in Scandinavian culture and history, particularly Norwegian culture and history. She speaks a little bit of Norwegian and hopes to learn more!
She has PCOS and unusually high levels of androgen hormones, which would probably explain why she has a mane and tail fur.
She has a few historical AUs! She’s not canonically a time traveller or anything, these are just some fun side projects of mine. You can find more info about these AUs in the tabs. It should be noted that I usually change some aspects of Leona’s character in these AUs (such as personality, nationality, etc) so that she fits in with the historical environment.
