Description
Okaasan is a horticultural robot made for the purpose of preserving Earth's flora in the event of catastrophe. Even today, Okaasan stays true to her mission of recovering nature where it would have otherwise been lost.
One of a kind, Okaasan's origins are not entirely known. She was found in a long abandoned laboratory, booted up, and has cultivated life within her corner of Automatopia ever since. Multiple tests and scannings have confirmed Okaasan's sentience and choice to pursue that which she was made for. It's very peaceful for her!
Okaasan currently lives with her roommate on the outskirts of Automatopia. Though she fully comprehends English, she refuses to switch her spoken language to anything but Japanese.

Okaasan is equipped with state of the art sensors that allow her to anticipate the needs of every plant she nurses, often in ways that a human gardener can only try to comprehend. An unfortunate side effect to this tech is her high sensitivity and inability to tolerate the commotion of the inner city.
Magnetic Components
Being made of several magnetic parts, Okaasan can rearrange her anatomy at will. She will oftentimes take off her "show" arms in favor of her "work" arms as well as switch out her terrarium "skirts". These components also include Okaasan's solar panel "petals" that shift toward any sunlight with ease.
Computational Empathy
On top of her primary directive, Okaasan was also built to recognize the survivors of a catastrophic event and empathize with their plight in order to give them the best chance of survival. This ability has gifted Okaasan not only with an innate fondness of humanity, but with an emotional intelligence that far surpasses the robots of her time.
Okaasan has an appreciation for humanity that exceeds most logic and reason. She feels blessed to have been made and knows that, despite its many, many faults, humankind pioneered the technology most take for granted today. Okaasan is protective by "nature", but this is especially apparent when she's in the presence of any humans. Just...don't yell, please.
Robotkind
While she loves and respects her own kind, Okaasan often feels alienated from most other automatons. She doesn't understand the want for more--more resources, more power, more dominion--and likely never will. So, until something changes on either side, Okaasan resigns to caring for the residents of her greenhouse, staying far away from the culture and politics of the city proper.
Demonkind
She hasn't met a demon and she doesn't want to. Scary!
