Personality
Agouti is independent and well-traveled, resulting in an expansive knowledge of how to survive in various environments. She can be nosey but her will to be social comes and goes so she's just as comfortable alone as she is in a group.
She can be a smart-ass though most often in an affectionate way. Agouti is not a strong fighter and tends toward verbal arguments where she isn't afraid to go for the emotional low blow. Recently though she's wanted nothing more than peace, so bringing that out in her would probably require hitting a nerve.
In the past Agouti had a tendency for blind affection when it came to she-cats, but she has since become more hesitant when it comes to romance. She will still flirt, but tends to get anxious or suspicious if it's ever reciprocated by a she-cat.
When it comes to deeper discussions, Agouti tends to hide her trauma with jokes or a change of subject. She is afraid to confront what she did on an emotional level, so she would rather avoid it and try to make amends through actions.
History
Born to a rogue mother as part of a litter of four, Agouti was ready to leave the den practically since day one. She hated listening to her mother and was nothing but a nuisance through most of her kit-hood.
True to her independent nature, Agouti was the first of her litter to set out on her own. She spent most of her days alone, traveling and exploring as far and as much as she could. She grew accustom to being alone, but eventually found herself growing bored with it.
After joining up to travel with Ace's gang, Agouti met and eventually became mates with Maya. Even through all the horrible things Ace made Agouti do and the deterioration of Agouti's health due to guilt, Maya always looked after her.
It wasn't until after Agouti left the tribe's camp, at Maya's insistence, to the "safer" den Maya had made near the lake that Agouti learned the truth. Maya had orchestrated every traumatic and guilt inducing event Agouti had suffered through, some for the sole purpose of keeping her all to herself. Agouti blamed herself for Maya's jealously fueled attacks on the cats she had grown close to and she couldn't bare staying.
Agouti soon ran away and was assumed dead by the tribe. She made it far from the tribe's territory before the guilt hit her again. After days of struggling with what to do, Agouti decided to take a risk and return to help those who wanted to escape.
