Greydiot (Off-Color Peridot)

Their gem formed with a strange gradient, however they are unable to project their physical form in anything but grayscale. This may be because the kindergarten they formed in was deactivated during their formation. Yet still, they were able to keep growing until they finally emerged in the abandoned kindergarten on a moon taken over by homeworld rebels. Given that the kindergarten hadn't even been finished before it was abandoned, it's a mystery as to how or who began the process to grow a peridot. Taking into account the time it takes to form one, it is safe to say the process started before it was shut down and not after. Likely the peridot was started as a test of the site's capabilities. conducted by a homeworld official. But it must have been a big secret, since not even Blondie knew about it...

But since Greydiot emerged along in an empty kindergarten, they knew nothing about homeworld. They wandered and were discovered by Golly, a Goshenite, who could sense that something had happened at the kindergarten due to her gem abilities. After affirming that they were indeed born on this moon from the abandoned kindergarten, they were accepted into the budding society as one of their own. Greydiot is doted on by almost everyone in the colony and especially by Lunalu and Golly. They can almost always be found following Golly around but may also hang out with other gems they like.

Greydiot is clumsy and naïve. They're very excitable and agreeable, saying yes to almost anything because they like to help their friends.

Greydiot uses they/she pronouns and sometimes he pronouns. Their name is a play on the word 'gradient', due to their gem, and also a play on 'peridot' and 'grey'. They were named by a Bismuth in the colony.
