Catherine Magdalen-Wriothesley (pronounced as Cath-uh-rinn Maudlyn-Roxli) grew up in a well-to-be family in the upper-class of the social ladder in Windsor, Berkshire in England, which lies west of London.

Her father was a businessman, who managed a successful business with reaches several places within Berkshire. She grew up with little to no worry about the future, as her education and life ahead would be secure (financially). Her mother taught her many skills which she could have use for, such as proper etiquette, how to behave in the company of important people, horse riding, croquet, etc.. Catherine grew up to be a fine, young lady, being able to navigate through social events with ease and grace.

As her father's business' growth began to stagnate due to the recession, he began searching for new fields, new places to expand. He decided to follow his gut, and took his family with him to the US. Leaving everything they knew and had grown up with wasn't easy, but the thrill of a new country, new adventure, a wasn't too bad either.

However, arriving in the new country brought forth some… unforeseen things. More and more, Catherine noticed that, upon touching some of the objects scattered across the new household or upon visiting others, "images" would flash before her eyes, of events that had to be from the past, often followed by a headache. It all reached a high when she, upon entering the old library in town, reacted rather badly and loudly by vivid images as soon as she had stepped inside, scaring the commuters and librarians around her. As her statement of what happened reached knowing ears, the Paranormal Division investigated Catherine, and ascertained that these "images" were evidence of her growing powers as a psychic, with the ability to perceive information from objects and certain locations with a simple touch or being in the location, a so-called "Psychometric".

Within the Paranormal Division, Catherine learned more about the "secret" world that was hidden in plain sight from the normal people, like she once was. A whole new world, with its own play-rules (or lack thereof), and a new danger to the secure life she envisioned she would be living. Embracing her newly awakened power, she practised and enhanced her psychometry power, in hopes of being able to use it to protect herself and her future. While training, she would often notice some of the smaller objects on the tables nearby dropping down onto the floor. Upon concentrating on these objects, she noticed that it was she herself that caused it to happen. Reporting her findings, she was informed of her latent, second power, telekinesis. But no matter how much she practised it, she found that it drained her of too much power to be of as much use as her psychometry.
