Garbage

Hara's pet vole.

Garbage was found in a junkyard, one of his legs clearly snapped off by some cruel trap or possibly by accident. Hara never intended to take him with her, she didn't even realize the little creature had crawled into the cart of parts she was gathering. Upon discovery, she originally tried to kill him, but found she was impressed by the shabby little vole's spirit and the two eventually started to bond. 

He seems to be able to sense danger, and warns Hara of incoming trouble or system failures before the computer even detects them.

He treats The Maupin as his territory and is thus very protective of it and of his two companions- Hara and Kay. Don't tell him he's not the boss.
