Wakizashi

A custom-made wakizashi (Japanese short sword) that could set into program of expand parts to release electricity in the gap. Yoshiko could have the option of using the back of the blade or the electricity to paralyze the opponent, or the sharp blade to slash and slow down the enemy. However, the disadvantages were that it would require recharge before mission and it would be useless against specials with electricity ability.

Due to her background, Yoshiko was forced to mature at an early age. When she is working, she is calm and can work under under pressure. She is usually reserved and tries hard to balance between work and family. In addition, her strict nature gave herself high standards and she tends to put others before herself, mostly for people she cares for.

Her only family is her little brother, Bartholomew (known as Bart). She carries the responsibility of raising Barth all on her own and since then, her determination of making the world a safer place for her brother to live in becomes a drive for her to work hard. She would do her best to give the care and attention she wasn’t able to receive to Barth, making her sometimes neglect her own conditions.

As much as she is tough on the outside, deep down she is caring and sweet, with an interest in cute items like Hello Kitty, plus her love for friends and family.

She loves her family wholeheartedly and puts them first, however this has affected her first romantic relationship in the past. Since she put her effort more on raising Bart, she didn’t invest time into the relationship. Although Barh would constantly tell her to get into a relationship and think of her own happiness, her stubbornness is constantly telling herself that Bart still needs protection, but once she learns how to properly invest in certain person, she would open herself up and appears to be the sweetest person.

• Background

Yoshiko’s original full name is Yoshiko Kazami. Her father is a Japanese and her mother is the mix of various European countries (so tracking down her ancestory would be hard). At young age, Yoshiko’s parents got divorced and she was legally under her mother’s care, renaming her last name to the mother’s.

 

Her mother was working everyday and she was rarely home, therefore Yoshiko had to work hard to take care of herself in both living and academic side. She studied hard to get good grades and save enough money for simple meal, surviving everyday life. Later she applied scholarship and student loan for high school in order to keep up with her knowledge, then as she was legally eligible to partake in part time jobs, she learnt how to balance work and school to improve her life without relying on any adults. Her part time jobs include working as cashier at convenient store, waitress at restaurant, even cleaner for a kendo dojo at the neighborhood, sometimes she would peek at the kendo class and practice basic swordsmanship by herself to strengthen her body and mind.

 

At some point of her teenage life, she fell in love with a classmate and eventually, they got together. Sadly life was unfair to Yoshiko. Her mother lingered around other men, and when Yoshiko was 17, the mother gave birth to her baby brother, Bartholomew and abandoned her son to the girl.

 

Yoshiko hated her parents for being irresponsible, yet she still took in her younger brother, the smile of the baby brother had soften her heart and hence she made a decision to protect him at all cost, ensuring that he wouldn’t have to bare through the same hardship and pain that she went through. Since then she worked twice harder, even when she got terribly sick, she would never be absent from her responsibility, neglecting her own physical condition. Her dedication to work had also made her romantic relationship fell apart. As Yoshiko focused mostly on her family’s livelihood, she couldn’t let the romance bloomed further and hence with the lack of attention, her lover went seeing another woman behind her back, which ended up a heartbreaking broke up.

 

For a period of time, her broken heart made her felt like her world had shattered. It took her brother’s smile for her to remind her the purpose of life. True, she was there to give Bart a better life, she couldn’t give up now.

 

After her high school, she gave up her college opportunity and decided to contribute her time more on her jobs and paying back her student loan, at the same time pay for her brother’s tuition fee. Her exposure to the society as she worked led to hearing rumors and media of the danger of the specials, of how they would harm the city’s peace. She knew that in order to give her brother a safer place to live in, she had to make a change, perhaps...as the B.O.S.S. Agent.

 

She settled a new goal for herself, but she knew that with her current ability, she wouldn’t be able to save anyone, so she begged the kendo dojo she previously worked in and asked to accept her as the disciple. She trained to improve her swordsmanship, at the same time work and study at the library to enhance herself. When the time was ready, she enrolled to the agency and be part of the member.
