Quick personality: This one is the most enigmatic dog of the family, and everyone is trying to uncover why he became the way he is now since Bernard is arrogant, very selfish, somehow always angry no matter the situation and sarcastic. He has so far failed to get along with any other dog, even Mocha and Empress, the ones considered the most patient, don't like him, especially because he's managed to get in a verbal or physical fight with almost everyone for... Things that weren't even that big of a deal or just because he wanted to. The only one he has a... Not necessarily positive, but... Peaceful-ish relationship with is Shimmer, though he doesn't understand why the "old man" keeps talking to him, he's already tried to push him away countless times but he continues coming back and he hates it, if that's his way of "making friends" then it's not working. He's only accepting his offers to hang out in the garden because being by yourself gets boring after a while and he likes to poke fun at Shimmer, were it not for those two reasons he would never go, he despises the way grass feels in his paws, the loud, irritating chirping of the birds and the scalding heat of the sun, he can't fathom why the "old man" likes it so much, it's become a source of their discussions, not arguments for once, discussions, civilized discussions even, well... As civilized as you can get with Bernard that is. He doesn't think he can be redeemed and he sure finds it amusing that Shimmer tries to much, hey, maybe he'll succeed, but as if that'd happen, there's no way... Right? Well, he doesn't know it but Shimmer is onto him, he does notice the way Bernard backs away or tries to hide a flinch whenever someone happens to touch him, the way he shrinks into himself in a subtle manner if someone raises their voice at him, the way he avoids eye contact disguising it as rudeness and more, it's why he hasn't given up on him.
