Professionalism is a thing though.
Basically he was left with his grandfather as..... not a hostage, but more like payment
for something his mom did while she was exiled. His Pulse abilities are pretty strong
and he's been trained pretty well. Nothing too notable about that though. He does
have a blood link with his sister though since they're siblings and that's *Special* and
stuff I'll explain some other day. Just know siblings can get better powers when fighting together.
He was mainly raised by his aunt Ilii and uncle. Also with his weird cousin Asa/Leastra. Since he is
part of the family that serves the king and queen he's committed to training in using Pulse powers.
He enjoys it. His father and sister Ina do come to the castle to visit from time to time. However he
hasn't seen his mother since he was born, which is basically like never. He really doesn't know
anything about her other than what he's told, and that's a lot of mixed things. Occasionally he does
read letters from her but they're generally very basic "I hope you're well" type things and
due to the rest of his family's view on her he seldom responds. His relationship with is father is
also guarded for the same reasons.
