Captain Sealight

Very small tom with short, pale ginger fur. Slightly darker stripes cover his shoulders, hindquarters, tail, and legs. His muzzle, paws, and underside of his tail are a soft cream. His eyes are round and a pale green color. His legs are thin that taper into delicate wrists and small paws. His tail ends in a tuft of soft, feathery fur.

Fun-loving to a fault, Sealight definitely had problems staying focused during training. Often egging other apprentices into sneaking off, performing dares, and just getting into general mischief. He's mellowed out a small bit as an adult but never lost that spark for bending the rules for a good time, making him popular with younger cats and a thorn in the side of older ones. His history of jumping between divisions before settling on being a guide has also become an unexpected aid him helping him connect with cats struggling to find their niche. Many of his previous students will return to confine in him if they are struggling in the division they chose, confident in the knowledge that Captain Sealight will never judge or have a harsh thought to these insecurities. He is a good wall to bounce ideas off of and indeed, he shows an infinite patience towards younger cats regardless of their skills or personalities.

When it comes to adults though, he is a mixed bag. Perhaps his most obvious and obnoxious trait is how much of a flirt he is. Although exclusively interested in toms, flirting is Sealight's second language that transcends all gender and how well you deal with it can make or break his opinion of you. Sealight enjoys cats who are laid-back and can give witty banter just as much as they can take. If he has a sour opinion of you that witty banter can be turned into stinging remarks and Sealight has never shied away from speaking his mind. He is most assuredly not the most popular captain because of this. There are those who can't see past his small stature and disregard for the rules and all they see is an obstinate kit with too much authority. And those who clash with him are less-likely to forgive him due to those biting remarks that often hit closer to home than many care to admit.

But those that mesh well with him find a friend who is steady as a rock beneath that flighty exterior. He does not abandon friendships willy-nilly and will stay with you through thick and thin. He loves to please the cats he likes and that boundless energy and endless enthusiasm will be channeled into gestures that show he is thinking of you.

And if you manage to win his affections (as one cat certainly has) you would think his entire world revolves around you. Gifts and gestures and small moments of "this reminded me of you". From an outsiders perspective, one might see Sealight's flirtations and disregard for rules as a warning to be concerned for his loyalty to a single mate. Indeed, especially when it comes to a cat like Maelstrom, whom many in the Colony regard very highly. But Maelstrom knows better and Sealight's close friends also can see the difference like night and day. There is a softness there that no other cat gets to experience, almost shy in comparison to his normal behavior. Sealight takes being a mate very seriously and makes sure Maelstrom knows it.
