FOR ME i denied potentially having undiagnosed autism cuz of da stuff my dad told me a couple years ago: that i'm "too smart/high functioning", "too socially intelligent", and "too socially aware" 2 be autistic </3 and tbh that's the sorta stuff i started telling myself which is why i was in denial for so long and it's why i STILL currently second-guess maiself on da mattah........ SO!!!!! they essentially embody arick's delusions of grandeur; the culmination of what he believed himself to be. much like the judgment factory in the show, it likely wasn't physically built, but rather it probably manifested as a byproduct of judgment boy's transformation. the show's version of gold is just a golden clone of the original judgment boy, whereas my version is the physical manifestation of jb's extreme delusions. so gold reflects what arick wants to be and views himself as: a devoted upholder of justice, a strong and elegant leader figure, someone who can be absolutely ruthless where necessary, and a powerful, regal being who's worthy of honor and respect. gold was able to gain their form from using arick's shadow as a vessel of sorts, and then progressively growing beyond it, where they finally became a tangible, physical being that no longer needed to be bound to arick. along with developing a fully formed conscious. much like how a shadow can appear larger or taller than the thing it's actually shadowing, gold appears far taller than arick. your shadow is a mirror of you. distorted and hazy in some ways, but it's still a reflection of you. gold's a bit of a distorted representation of arick, but still represents parts of arick. so arick and gold have a very interesting (and early on very conflicting) relationship. gold starts out as very cold and strict, but gradually loosens up over the course of the story.
