Puka is Spina’s best friend from childhood. If she had been a Saiyan and not a Tuffle, one could easily mistake them for sisters, such was how close they were. Born on her father’s refugee ship that first fled Planet Plant on the fateful final night of the Saiyan-Tuffle war, Puka never saw her original homeworld, and never learned of Saiyans at all until Rugul and Letta crashed on New Plant when she was only five. Having her mother’s curiosity and her father’s sharp mind and stubborn courage, she snuck out that night to find them and bring them medicine after she’d seen her father turn and leave them at the crash site, clearly wounded. This act was enough to save their lives, and over time, Puka's interest and curiosity toward the Saiyans grew ever stronger, her lack of old baggage from the two races' past allowing her to become enamored with them. Eventually Rugul and Letta settled down in the colony and had Spina, whose birth Puka and her parents were also present for. The two girls became nearly inseparable, each learning from the other. Puka would train with Spina from time to time, and became the strongest Tuffle in the colony, and in turn, Spina learned more than your average Saiyan about spaceships and technology from Puka and the other Tuffles. In the spin-off only, Puka's affinity for Saiyans is cemented further when she falls in love with and becomes mated to [REDACTED]. She even has Letta teach her about the ritual duel and how to fly so she can pursue a Saiyan properly. |
