Profile

When Azar was born, his mother and the rest of the village thought he might have been a tiefling, until his grandmother revealed his Djinn heritage. They were a quiet child, rarely seen playing with the other children with the exception of one boy, Raahil, who insisted on being close by.

One day, the desert scrub-lands caught fire and it spread rapidly through the dried brush, quickly surrounding the small village Azar called home. He felt the heat close to his skin, and realized he was not afraid of it. An ancient spirit of the flames recognized the child as family, and he was able to dispel the flames little by little with his hands. The town was saved, and they then revered him for his great deed. He was liked decently by the people as he grew into his power. He grew up and so did Raahil. They were to be married when another woman in the village, Laavanya, decided she wanted Raahil for herself. Through carefully placed gossip and rumors, Laavanya convinced half the village that Azar really was a demon spawn, weilding flames that would destroy the village if they weren't careful. Then she had them convinced that the deeds that made him popular with the townsfolk were actually his doing.

One night, Laavanya burned the roof of her hut, severely injuring herself, and pointed fingers at Azar who had appeared on scene to help fight the flames. The people on her side verbally chastised him, and he was told to pack his things and leave. Even his mother could do nothing to stop them. He wished her goodbye before seeing Raahil one last time. Azar gave him kind words and one final tender kiss before Raahil told him never to come back. And so he left with a small pack on his shoulder and his wooden staff and went off into the desert. He was going to see the world, but he swore could never trust anyone close to him again.

He now travels with The Forgotten Ones, a party with four other members, as they fight monsters and try to restore balance to the world.
