Notable Items

 Dagger of Doubling

A blade with shadowy streaks in its metal. A Dagger of Doubling can create a shadow copy of itself. If one blade is thrown or dropped, it dissolves, the one remaining in a hand being/becoming the original which can then be duplicated once more.
Once the blade of a Kyton that brought him his first death, this dagger was infused with the Kyton's shadow essence in a ritual, soulbound and only usable by Juno. After his second death, that connection was severed and had to be restored in another ritual - one that brought a little side effect with it. The blade turned into an intelligent weapon, able to hit a deadly blow on Juno's wish, or its own.
The communication is mainly an empathic one for now, with feelings of cold when seperated, or pictures of the Kyton when fighting together. Juno hopes to improve that in the future.

 Shadow

Usually a form of incorporeal undeads, this shadow is an entity summoned by Juno himself. While not very intelligent or autonomous, it can communicatewith Juno, execute commands and fight. Unfortunately, a single dragon's breath is enough to exterminate it until it can be summoned again.

 Kyton (Holding House)

On a mission to free a squad of knights from a prohibited order from imprisonment and torture, the party entered the 'interrogation' room to retrieve the last of the squad where they faced off against a Kyton - a demonic creature from another plane, covered in knives and delighted by pain. In the ensuing fight, the Kyton landed a very critical hit against Juno, piercing a dagger through his throat and leaving him dead.
The party, still short on funds at that point in time, managed to make a deal with the local priests of Abadar to receive a scroll of Raise Dead.

The dagger that killed him was kept as a trophy, reminder and future ally (probably).

 Norgorber Skinsaw Cultist (Silver Ravens Base)

In an ambush on the rebellion's underground base, Juno rushed into an occupied room to protect the base's water pump from sabotage. Paralyzed by a spell from one of the cultists in that room, another one of them could end him with a carefully placed coup de grace.

 Jorogumo (Norgorber Cult Hideout)

When the Silver Ravens finally managed to track down the Skinsaw Cult's current hideout, they decided to immediately take care of that perpetual danger in the city. After a lengthy battle with only the cult leader and a Jorogumo, a spider woman, left standing, Juno, chained down with various ailments and curses, was cornered and stabbed in the back by the Jorogumo.
The Jorogumo picked up his Dagger of Doubling as a trophy and while he was on his way through the queue of souls in the afterlife, he felt something trying to take over. Juno managed to resist, took control and managed to land another stab against the cult's leader Hei Feng.

  Barzillai Thrune (Temple of Asmodeus) [BoL]

When the party decided to infiltrate the Temple of Asmodeus to interrupt a very threatening ritual, they inevitably ran into Barillai himself. The fight was hard, but eventually Barzillai had to retreat to save his life. The Party tried to pursue him, but were outwitted by Barzillai's preparations and traps. When Juno got too close, another hit by Barzillai's mace sent him to the ground, but fortunately Black Rose was nearby and could immediately bring him back with a Breath of Life spell.
This was only the first of many Breath of Life spells that brought him back before he could even reach the afterlife.

  (Dagger) Barzillai Thrune (Temple of Asmodeus)

The final battle against Barzillai himself claimed another victim: Juno's shadow dagger. In a last, vile action, Barzillai managed to not only damage, but utterly scatter the dagger, bringing great pain to Juno as a part of his soul, still lingering in the blade, got scattered as well.
The dagger could be fixed afterwards - with the power of resurrection - but Juno decided to sever the connection the two of them have in the same process, to could develop and heal independently from each other.

 Prof. Alander Mangvhune (Shax Cult)

When Kintargo got haunted by another series of terrifying murders, the party managed to track down the source to Prof. Alander Magvhune himself, a serial killer that was executed for his crimes a few decades ago. He did indeed die, but came back from the afterlife, now transformed into a gruesome demon, as a result of his sick studies. In a showdown in his 'lecture room', he managed to bring a quick death to Juno and one of his allies, before the remaining party managed to put an end to his misdeeds.

 Undead Dragon (Sanctum of Mahatalla)

When the party headed into the darklands to retrieve Barzillai's heart, they encountered an undead dragon, still there to protect its lair and the temple of its goddess. It's claws, filled with negative energy, were bad enough, but it was a Finger of Death spell that brought Juno another quick, though very painful death.

 Not listed: Many many times where he got close to death, but didn't die, and the many times he went down but got immediately healed back to life with Breath of Life.

> A tall, but unusually slim half-orc with notable pointy ears. His clothes are durable, and he seems battle-experienced and always prepared with light armor and a set of knives.

> Most notable is a dangerous-looking scar on his throat - a recent gift from a Kyton that has actually killed him, but thanks to a deal with the priests of Abadar, he could be revived.

> He seems grim and cold, but is rarely aggressive. Instead, he tends to keep himself quiet in the background, as good as his rare looks allow. When getting into a conversation with him, you'll find a curious, friendly, caring and at times snarky guy.

> Despite him being a Shadowdancer, he is a follower of Sarenrae, the Goddess of Sun, Redemption and Healing. When he first came to the city, he was a ragged, ruthless and nearly feral yound half-orc, willing to steal and kill to survive, if he needed. With help from Sarenrae and her followers, he got inspired to change - worked on his temper, learned the local languages, even found a job, even if his skills weren't suited for much else besides a mercenary.

Synopsis

Born as an unlikely child to drow and his orc slave/bodyguard, he got raised in the Darklands under cold and cruel circumstances.
His father trained him to never be seen and heard, and to kill quick and effective, because if other drows discover a bastard child like that, it could mean death or worse for both Juno and his creator. He was allowed to stay in the care of his mother though, at least until the day she was killed. With no reason to stay and nothing left to lose, young Juno decided to take revenge on his drow father. He attacked him and killed him (or so he assumes) and escaped the caves of the Darklands.

He wandered the wilderness for a while, hunted, stole, killed and survived, barely a teen, but nearly feral, until a group of travelers found him and took him in. With them, he found his way to society and learned how to act and behave around people.

When he came to the city of Kintargo, he worked as a mercenary. Mostly guard and bodyguard duties, but whatever would bring money.
He kept a tiny basement 'apartment' with nothing more than a bed and broken chair. Fine with him. A small and dark place like that felt.. familiar and comfortable. Just having his own home was already a luxury to him.
Whatever free time he had, he prefered to spend with books than with people. There was a time where was better at reading the local language than speaking it. That was also where he found and chose his new name.
When met followers of Sarenrae (the goddess of sun, healing, honesty and redemption and got inspired to better himself, work against his nature as half-orc and child of the cruel Darklands, and lead a life of a proper, friendly and patient citizen.

Not too long after, the city's peace came to an end when a tyrant, Barzillai Thrune, took over the city, and Juno helped found and build a small rebellion organization that tried to save the city.

Through these hard times, he found some reliable friends and allies and even a husband. He also got hurt more than once, even met his death once - even if it didn't last. But thats just a job hazard that comes with the position.

Story

Ever since the end of the Chelish Civil War in 4640 ar, the thrice-damned House Thrune has, with the aid of the church of Asmodeus, controlled the empire of Cheliax without fail. But after a sacred Iomedean artifact got first discovered by Chelian Hellknights, then the violent reclamation of the very same by the Glorious Reclamation, an army of Iomedean crusaders, House Thrune put Cheliax' biggest cities under martial law...

Kintargo, Juno's chosen home city, has been a relatively secluded city and enjoyed more leniency and independancy than most of Cheliax. But after the previous Lord-Mayor suspiciously disappeared, Paracount Barzillai Thrune now rules Kintargo, and to date has done more than simply institute martial law; he’s enacted seven proclamations that all citizens of Kintargo must abide by, and it seems that every few days, a new and increasingly outlandish proclamation is added to the list.

The Beginnings

After the "Night of Ashes" during which several buildings went up in flames, part of the city gathered for what was supposed to be a peaceful protest. Juno attended. People disappeared, including a number of Sarenrae followers that he knew, and after he tried looking into what and why it happened, he got told to meet up with a contact during the protest. But before he could find the person, violence started out, instigated by a Cheliax-loyal militia group.
Juno managed to escape with a group of people and then find their mutual contact - in the process of being beaten bloody in an alley. They save him - Rexus Victocora, son of the Victocoras, a noble family whose house burned down in the Night of Ashes.

He invites them into the Long Roads Coffeehous, run by Laria Longroad, a free halfling and friend of Rexus' family who took him in after his house was no more. There, he briefs the group on what has happened - how his family was targeted for belonging to the Sacred Order of Archivists trying to protect Kintargo's history from Chelian censorship, how his mother left him trinkets and a letter telling him about the Silver Ravens, and how he wants to investigate the matter and protect Kintargo from worse, if possible. And he will need allies for that.

An underground organization that wants to free Kintargo from the oppressive influence of House Thrune and especially the city's new Lord-Mayor Barzillar Thrune.

Black Rose/Aula Vashnarstill

A young noble that has made herself a name as 'Black Rose', an anonymous benefactor helping the tieflings in the slums of Kintargo, and now one of the founding members and officer of the Silver Ravens. A follower of Milani.
She is a skilled fighter, dancing across the battlefield and around enemies, hitting them when they least expect it. When not fighting, she is unbeatable when it comes winning arguments with strong points and friendly smiles.

Isas (of House Isas/The 'Free' Slave')

Once a tiefling slave owned by the noble family Tanessen, he got freed in a fairly dramatic last 'fuck you' from Pavo Tanessen to his family. Isas has not been too thrilled about that, to be honest, for being a free man is just too much effort and stress, but he manages fairly well.
A somewhat simple minded but stubborn guy, he found his purpose in being 'the can', a fullplate with tower shield that is like an unmovable wall in battle and takes hits for his friends. When he isn't doing that... you might spot him trying to sweep the slum's streets in full armor.

Pavo Tanessen/Vengeance

A young noble that got tired of how much his family is brown-nosing the Thrunes, he got intp the faith of Calistria, the goddess of lust and revenge, in a bout of teenage rebellion.
He distanced himself from his family more and more, built himself a fairly middle-class life with his family and slave/friend Isas, keeping his illegal faith under wraps, until Barzillai Thrune himself dared to enter this city. With the uprising rebellion, Pavo senses a chance to expand the faith of Calistria and get back at his family.

Rexus Victocora

The only survivor of the noble family of Victocora after the family's house burnt down in the Night of Ashes just before his return from studying abroad. He decided to follow the guidance of his family - members of the Sacred Order of Archivists - and the image of the original Silver Ravens, an organization that protected Kintargo from the civil war in Cheliax a century ago, and founded the new Silver Ravens in hopes of freeing Kintargo from Barzillai Thrune's oppressive influence.

Historian of the Rebellion
