Gentlemanly • Honest • Protective • Caring

Jasper is your not-so-typical Demon, He has taken a life of honesty, as well as never harming another being, this all being due to the upbringing he had experienced at his Families Estate. He will always treat everyone he meets with the uptmost respect, even if they may not deserve it.

He has a strong fondness towards Humans and Angels, throughout his life he has wanted to reasearch their kinds to learn more about them, however due to the place he lived at the time majority of the research was biased towards Demons which wasn't of much use to him. He always enjoys meeting new beings, since joining the exchange program he has met a fair few students, he hopes to gain their companionship one day.

Summary

Backstory: Jasper grew up in a wealthy household in the Devildom, with his parents and older sister Helona, the maid hired by his parents was the one who took care of them both, his parents were either too busy or were simply unmotivated to spend time with them as they had "more important things to attend to" As they would say. However the times they did talk with him it was mostly to inform him how superior their species was to the rest, that every other species were beneath them, his sister would jump to agree with them as she lived to appease them, Jasper on the other hand it had the opposite effect, it made him curious to what these species were, however he was forbidden to leave their home without permission from his parents. So as unfortunate as it was the only way he would learn about the species was through his homeschooling. Sure enough the way they were portrayed was how his parents interpreted them. Humans being weak, feeble minded beings and Angel's being up on their high horse 24/7, looking down on Demons. Despite teachings in mind he wanted to know more about them. With how much his parents talk about them he assumed they'd met these beings. However when he confronted them about this they diverted his question to rant yet more about them.

As time went on and he got older he was starting to doubt more and more the facts he'd been given about the other species. His sister just seemed to eat it up without any proof, she was more interested in the praise she would get from their parents when she insulted them. Soon he wanted to expand his knowledge by meeting one and gathering notes; his parents however declined this and told him to stick to his roots. He decided to wait until he was more grown up to pursue this interest. As despite being around 100 years of age both physically and mentally he was a child. He decided to check the family library. Some of the books had caught his eye, one of them being a general history of Human World music, all the book really needed was the word ‘Human’ for him to pick it up. As he read through it he was quickly intrigued by the different types of genres, as he got further down the line in history things started to move ahead he didn’t seem to understand the concept of a ‘Music Video’ As he was started to become overwhelmed by this he went back to the older era of music the ones seen as “Classics” As he reread these paragraphs one after another he started to develop a love for them, the simple yet elegant works of art, so much so he eagerly asked his parents for Piano lessons.

Luckily for him they were happy to hire a tutor, unfortunately he was not given the freedom he hoped for, he was shoehorned into playing songs suggested by his parents, ones that were orchestrated in the Devildom, however despite this Jasper didn’t mind this as it did help teach him how to read musical sheets. His parents would often call him in with his new found talent to play their songs, he didn’t vocally object to this as he knew he couldn’t, however as he was now getting his parents attention more this only upset his sister who looked into learning to play the Violin. In his free time he would look back to the classical songs copying over the music sheets from the books onto sheets of paper so he could learn them whenever his parents were out. He soon learned to play more than 10 classical songs. A smile on his face would grow every time his fingers hit the notes, however this happiness he had would soon fall short as his sister soon found out about this alone time, doing what any jealous sibling would do in this scenario she told his parents about the music he was playing, his Father was red in the face, his mother wouldn’t even look at this, his father gathered up the music sheets he had copied over calling them “Human Garbage” as he threw them into the family fireplace. Jasper watches through the tears in his eyes as his favourite hobby turned into ashes before him. All he could hear was the sobbing from this Mother and his Father scolding him, calling him weak for crying over paper, that he was no better than the feeble humans who made the songs. Jasper could feel the anger building up inside of his small body, his fists were clenched as he held his tongue the emotions he was feelings brought out a new form, 2 small horns poked out at the side of his head as a tiny pair of wings sprouted on his back, he hadn’t noticed them his parents however had as they had horrified looks on their face as they backed up as if about to be attacked, his mother hiding behind his Father as he stammered for him to go to his room. That’s all he needed, a reason to leave the room.

As he got to his room he flopped onto his bed, he could hear his sister jeering at him from behind the door, calling him a monster for scaring their parents. All he did was slam the door in her face. The mirror that was on the back of it revealed the form he had taken, he now knew why his sister called him that. This was the first he had seen a form being taken by a Demon, his parents, sister, even his grandparents who visited them on occasions didn’t have horns or wings.. Did they? They were Demons after all, during his studies he was taught about the true forms Demons could take on to intimidate others or even scare them off but with what he had seen so far this seemed less believable. Is that what he did to his parents? Their expressions made more sense but this was purely unintentional. He wiped the tear trails around his face, taking a few breaths scrunching his eyes shut before opening them again to see the horns and wings had disappeared but this was a lot to process. His parents never brought up to him that this may happen, it was then that one of the family servers knocked on his door, one of the maids who takes care of him.

A lower ranking Succubus Demon by the name of Kylora who was picked up off the streets and put into service by his family. And the one person who he truly trusted in this world, she had heard the kerfuffle from before and came to check up on him, all Jasper did at this point was hug her waist, this maid was the closest to a proper mother he had after all, as he embedded his head into her dress he heard a crumbling sound. As he backed up there was a smile on her face, she had found his stash of classical music sheets in the music room while she was cleaning up, she knew his sister would tell his parents so she snuck one of them out. She unfolded the sheet and handed it to him, the smile had returned to his face as he hugged her once again, they were not all burnt up after all. The one she had saved was one named Piano Sonata No. 11 in A major, K 331 composed by the Human Mozart, one he for sure would cherish for the remaining days he is to remain alive. He decided to bring up the reason behind him being sent to his room, all the maid did was shake her head, and look at him with sympathy in her eyes. This was a natural thing that occurred for Demons, upon feeling a great deal of strong emotions they bring out their true form. This usually happened during the Demons adolescence years with it varying. How it seemed with the situation that occurred it caused him to bloom at a much earlier age. She told him that he should only use it to protect those that are close to him rather than to scare others. He nodded, in truth the form itself scared him as it came out when he felt such anger towards his parents, he was afraid he may even harm them, with that in mind he made a promise to never allow himself to become that aggravated again.

He had grown up a fair amount since then and was now around 400 years of age yet had the appearance of a young adult. It was around this time that an incident had occurred, one that would impact his life significantly. When he was in the gardens of his family's estate, it was often he would take time to himself as his parents hadn’t changed one bit from his childhood, he would always admire the rose bushes that were planted just nearby enjoying their very fragrance. He continued walking on as he got to the garden maze, one he had completed many a time but an enjoyable pastime nonetheless, as he walked through the green leaved alleyway, he heard noises nearby, shouting? No, it sounded more like an animal noise, Jasper stood where he was he listened more to these noises, but as a few seconds went by the noises become more prominent, they started to sound like barking noises, however those weren’t the only ones, there was what seemed to be voice, other Demons? It seemed like they were trying to capture a creature of sorts, just how close were they to his position? Who would soon find out as he carried on walking through the maze, the barking noises stopped for a moment as he turned around the corner, all seemed well, momentarily. It was until he was around the corner that he stopped in his tracks, there seemed to be a mess of black fur on the floor of the maze, it seemed to be shaking slightly, from what he saw there was also something seeping from it’s fur, a dark shade of red..? Instinctively Jasper stepped back not knowing the small twig that happened to break under his foot, the black fur stopped shaking and slowly seemed to stand up, it turned to face his direction.

Jasper now knew what this creature was, the coal coloured fur, ruby red eyes and overall size of the beast made this all clear now, all the common traits of a Hell Hound the growling from the Hound got louder as it got closer to him, more of the crimson substance was seeping out of it’s fur at a rapid pace, had it been injured? He then remembered the voices that rang out alongside the barking. Of course as this thought crossed his mind he did something that would be seen as utterly ridiculous, he called out to the beings that he hoped where nearby, in doing so the Hell Hound wasted no time bolting in his direction, teeth were bared and just as sharp, he only had a few seconds to think but those seconds were all he had as he brought up his arms in a defensive manner. The hound pounced and quickly dug it’s teeth into his left hand, Jasper cried out in pain but not long after 3 figures made their way into view, pointing to the hound, one of them quickly threw out a tight chain leash ensnaring the beast, which only made it bite his hand harder causing yet another cry out in pain from Jasper, the other 2 ran over only to realise who it had bitten as horror came onto their face, they quickly got into action, forcing open the jaws of the Canine which happened very slowly and painfully for jaspers case. But eventually he was set free from the Hound's grasp. Jasper dragged himself away with his legs and uninjured free hand until he felt the spiky texture of the maze wall from behind, he sat on the ground holding his injured hand while the Hound was pinned down by the 2 other figures, when Jasper was able to get a better look at them, from their appearance and clothing he recognised them as the gardners, he’d sometimes run into them on occasions during his walks through the garden. The pain still felt intense as his blood was now seeping into his clothing. Once the gardeners were able to secure the Hound one of them made their way to Jasper the look of pure terror was on his face, he was apologising profusely for what had happened, the Hound had escaped from a nearby shelter and had made its way into their property, they had been chasing it for hours only to lose its location around the maze, it was until they heard him cry out that they ran as fast as the

could.

Another one of the gardners made his way to Jasper, covering his face with his mouth seeing his injuries, more looks of terror, of course Jasper knew all too well this was fear of his family, they were afraid of what would happen if they found out about this, not that he would tell on them, these were nice people. Nicer than his actual family. The second one put his hands about Jasper's injured hand as a soft green glow appeared, he told him he only had a low level amount of healing magic, enough to stop the bleeding but not enough to close the wound. He’d need to move back to the house for stronger healing. The pain Jasper felt was dissipating, he was already thankful enough for them, all he did was sit there and let himself get bitten he could’ve used any of the self defense he was taught and yet he didn’t. It made him feel quite pathetic for his quite useless actions, there was a weak smile on his face but tears had already started falling down his cheeks. The gardners helped him stand up and began walking him back to the house. As the got inside they were greeted by his Father, who upon seeing the scene before him shouted about the reason behind it, from Jaspers perspective it was as if the Gardners lost a few inches in size, he stood straight up so the gardners didn’t have to carry him, looking to his father he mentioned about the Hell Hound and that he had been saved by the Gardeners in the nick of time, however all this did was draw his anger to Jasper who let himself be taken out so easily by a ‘mutt’ and seeing the tear streaks that were still on Jaspers face he called him weak for allowing himself to cry in front him and that no son of his had that fragile of a heart. With how much his father insulted him this way he thought he’d be used to it by now but this wasn’t the case. Every time he did feel like they dug into his very being like daggers, the only way he knew he would stop is if his tears cease from ever flowing again. He reluctantly apologised to his Father as he walked off in a huff, as he was out of the room Jasper’s body gave out slightly, the Gardeners were quick to grab him before he fell to the floor, it seemed he’d lost more blood than he thought. He was taken to the small clinic in his home, laid to rest on one of the beds as the nurses tended to his hand, despite their best effort’s the wound was too deep for it to be fully healed so he was now left with a jagged mark on the back of his hand, all he could do was stare at it with distaste as it reminded him that he was still as weak.

His sister wasted no time making her way into the clinic, a smug smile plastered onto her face as she heard from ‘daddy’ that he cried after getting bit by a ‘doggie’ . He wasn’t even surprised his father brought it up with his sister, he’d most likely be the laughing stock of his family for some time, a Demon, a noble one at that letting himself be injured by a lone Hell Hound, even Jasper felt the humour in that. His sister continued to jeer at him calling him a ‘crybaby’ that he should join all the crybaby humans as he shares that in common with them. All jasper did was sigh and shake his head, despite his sister being around 300 years older than him she hadn’t mentally matured, still pining over the approval of his parents, she agreed with all that they said, shared all their same interests, but he could tell she was losing her very self. However the words she threw out still resonated with him, as it brought up all the other times he’d gotten scolded for crying, that kind of emotion was seen as a weakness in his family, not getting upset would mean not shedding any tears which inturn meant no scolding, he could just keep himself happy right? That’s all he needed to do, a difficult feat that he would soon turn into a bad habit. Kylora came into the room and shooed his sister out as she heard her remarks, saying he needed to rest, all his sister did was pout and say he would tell her father about this. Jasper could finally relax, as having the maid in the room was a comfort of sorts. She looked at his hand with sadness in her eyes, Jasper could barely look at her. But instead of calling him weak like his family she simply hugged him and asked if he was feeling alright and if he still felt any pain, it was moments like these that Jasper felt a brief moment of happiness. He reassured her that his hand no longer hurt but he was left with the nasty scar. He put a smile on the back of his head with his other hand, as he called himself a coward for freezing on the spot. He felt a sharp pain on the side of his face, this was the first time Kylora had struck him, there was anger in her eyes but also tears. But soon after she embraced him, scolding him for making this remark about himself, he wasn’t his family, and she for sure didn’t want him to turn into them. The pain in his cheek still stung but it was his heart that was hurting more, for causing Kylora this grief. He apologised while still wearing the smile, as she finally broke away from him there was still a sadness in her eyes. She knew his scar would remind him of this day.

With this in mind she told him she’d be right back, what felt like hours went by as he sat silently in the desolate clinic, all he could hear was the ticking of the clock on the wall, he got up from the bed, he had regained the strength he had lost before, but id did made him wonder where Kylora had gone. He looked at the scar with discontent, he hoped to never make the same mistakes he made today, just as he was about to open the door Kylora came rushing back in, her breaths were rapid as if she’d been sprinting the whole way, she was thankful she made it in time before he left, holding up a pair of snow white gloves in her hand, she said for him to wear them to hide the scar so he didn’t have to look at it. Jasper asked her where she actually got them, the maid looked at him with a smile, she’d bought them with what money she was given by his family, she was originally saving up to eventually move out of his parents estate and start living her own life but to her this was more important, Jasper was horrified, his parents didn’t even pay her that much Grimm in general for her to spend it all on him.. He couldn’t take the gift and told her to return them to get her money back. But she didn’t listen, she just shook her head and thrust the gloves at him, she can still save up more money, she didn’t want him to keep looking at it and see himself as a coward. It was the least she could do to try to prevent the memories from resurfacing. Jasper’s expression softened he knew she wouldn’t return them and so gently took them from her gasp, putting on each of them as the material felt soft against his skin, these were high quality noble gloves, she would’ve needed to spend every last Grimm on them, thinking of this made his heart ache but he still kept his smile on and embraced the maid, thanking her for the help she had done for him.

Time went on again Jasper was now around 1000 years old, the equivalent of an adult. Due to this is family would start inviting him to ballroom parties that friends of his family had put together, at first Jasper was ecstatic about this, as the only beings he had interacted at this point were his Family plus the workers they hired, he was still interested in getting to know the other species and with them being wealthy nobles he may get a chance to hear stories about them, he decided to bring a small notebook with him, he’d bought it some time ago but didn’t have a chance to use it until now. Before they left his parents came to talk with him, as they mentioned him being more grown up now, they brought about the possibility of him being wed to another Noble, he was the only male child of their family and would eventually inherit their estate. Jasper himself hadn’t really thought about marriage, he told them once he find the person that is special to him that maybe he would think about it, he was caught off guard by his parents sudden abrupt laughter, they said he didn’t have a choice in the matter, they already had a being in mind they wanted to set him up with, a female demon by the name of Nymeli, she was the daughter to a good friend of his father and is the one who set up this ball. Jasper was confused at this sudden proposal, he hadn’t even met this being yet he was already set up to potentially marry them? And the fact he had no say in the matter, it was as if they were forcing him to marry a complete stranger. Was this really what his fate was? Visiting the library he often read novels to pass the time, some of them having a more romantic edge to them, 2 friends becoming lovers over time, the important thing to note was that it took time for this to happen, yet it felt like he had no time for that.

Even with this in mind he still had his notebook in hand, and ready to ask questions as they started making their way to the ball. The first thing of note was the loud but instrumental music coming from the front, a lot of classical instruments, Jasper couldn’t help but look in awe at this, the music itself however was more Devildom composed, which was to be expected, there were also large crowds of beings dotted around the ballroom. Some of them were actually in their true forms, he could see a lot of horns, wings and tails about, some felt more comfortable that way? He felt a large push from behind as his father directed him to group at the side of the group, beings he he never met before, his father introduced him as his friends and their daughter and beside his friend was said female, who seemed to be looking at him up and down as a small smile came to her face, she stretched out her arm to him as her hand faced downwards, of course Jasper had been taught to green all Noble women with a kiss on the hand, which he did so without hesitation, however no soon after she had started clinging to his arm which Jasper wasn’t expecting, he still kept the smile on his face but he was definitely uncomfortable. She looked to father or as she called him ‘daddy’ similar to how his sister referred to their own, funnily enough as she came to mind he realised she hadn’t actually come with them here, was she still at the house? He was snapped back to the ballroom as the arms around his own got tighter, his family and her own were laughing with glee that they brought up them already looking like a happy couple. Jasper felt his smile twitch slightly as they said this. The smile on Nymeli’s face was much bigger however. Jasper quickly asked the group if he could get some food from the buffet alone. He said this word specifically to Nymeli who’s smile dropped and she now looked at him with big eyes and a quivering lip, he reassured her he’d be back in a minutes, this seemed to be enough to convince her as had taken her arms off of him the smile returned very quickly to her face as she began talking to the group.

As Jasper turned away a silent sigh came out as he started making his way over to the buffet, a lot of expensive Devildom food was splayed out, a lot of it seemed to not have been touched yet, every seemed more interested in talking at the moment, he picked up a plate and started putting stuff on, it wasn’t until he heard the mention of Humans that his ears perked up, a couple of nearby seemed to talking about them. Jasper quickly put the plate down but not before putting one of the morsels into his mouth, he hadn’t noticed how hungry he was until now. He took out his notebook and eagerly approached the gentlemen by the table, asking them about the Humans they had mentioned, the looked at him in quite a peculiar manner before bringing up that he must be the Silgor’s son, he could recognise his mother’s blue hair from a mile away, he chuckled to himself before Jasper nodded and brought up the Humans again, his pen sat tightly in his gloved hands over his notebook. The other Noble that was there spoke next, saying they were talking about how easy it is to manipulate humans, they can be easily charmed and corrupted. It was practically laughable. Jasper felt a chill go down his spine as this was said, but non the less he needed to ask a specific question, if they had actually met a human. Both of the Nobles looked at one another before back to Jasper, there was a quite hesitant look in their eyes before they eventually spoke up, they started spewing that they had in fact met humans, they used a spell to go to the very world they resided in just to look at how pathetic they were, the other even brought up that they had thought about taking one home and using it as a pet, the both of them laughed, Jasper simply clicked his pen lowering his notebook with a sigh. It was clear these Nobles were lying to save face, what gave them away was the spell they mentioned, Jasper had done a read through on travel between the Devildom and the Human World there wasn’t much on it as for a Demon even for a high class one it was simply impossible without assistance, the only being he knew of that had to the abilities to freely venture out to another realm was the Demon Lord himself.

Jasper put his note book into his pocket as he walked back to his abandoned plate putting more small morsels on to it, he started walking back to the group he’d come from when he all of a sudden collided with another being, a smaller figure to his own, he instinctively grabbed their back so they didn’t fall backwards all still while having the plate on his hand. He apologised for not looking where he was going to the being, after getting a better look of the being it would seem he had bumped into a female noble, she looked up to him and gave her own apology, admitting she wasn’t all that keen on the large groups at balls, Jasper brought up that this was his first as he awkwardly rubbed the back of his face. He introduced himself as Azran to the women and she returned his name with her own, she went by the name Flora, Jasper blinked for a few seconds as this wasn’t a typical Demon name, much less for a Noble, the lady caught on to his reaction and let him know that it is a name she liked, she wasn’t a fan of her birth name so she introduced herself with a name she prefers, seeing as she had an interests in flowers it fit perfectly for her. Jasper had never really thought about doing this, he simply thought he was stuck with the name he was given at birth, but not wanting to keep the silence he smiled to her saying it was quite the pretty name, a light blush came upon the maidens cheeks as she started fiddling with her dress, a smile had affixed onto her own face.

It was until a shrill voice rang out suddenly and the words ``He's mine!” could be heard throughout the ballroom, it was then that Nymeli the female from before was quickly making her way to Jasper, clinging to his arm once again, however this arm was the one he was holding the plate on which caused it to drop, the kerfuffle had caused a lot of heads to turn and murmur had started among the nobles. The look on Nymeli’s face was that of sheer anger as she held onto his arm tightly, the Maiden was now looking about the room as the eyes were now on her. Nymeli informed that she was to eventually wed Azran, so she can keep her ‘greedy’ hands off of him. Jasper was in shock, he watched as Flora started apologizing and that she didn’t intend to take him away, tears had started forming at her eyes, she couldn’t take the staring any long, she quickly made her way out of the ball room, the Nobels opened up a pathway is if they didn’t want to touch her. Nymeli looked up at Jasper with a pout saying he shouldn’t be talking to women that he was hers alone. All Jasper could feel right now was guilt, he caused women such anguish yet he had only met her, a part of him wanted to go after her but the tight grip of Nymeli was stopping this. His parents and her own actually came over to them as the Nobles went back to what they were doing as if nothing had happened. His father was quick to throw remarks about the maiden, calling her a disrespectful wench. Nymeli’s smile was back on her face as she was rubbing her face on his shoulder. Jasper rubbed the back of his head asking if she was alright. His father threw a sharp gaze in his direction, that ‘wench’ was of no concern to him, gesturing to Nymeli he says that he should be concerned for her instead. Jasper could barely muster the feelings too, all he did was smile and nod to his father as he looked to the door with worry.

As the next day came around, the girl still being on Jasper's mind from the day before, he was making his way to the kitchen to get himself a glass of water when he heard voices coming from inside, he had his hand near the door knob but instead listened in, as they were his parents voices. They were talking about the ball about how a success it was, how their son and Nymeli seemed like a good match. Jasper rolled his eyes in this statement, but what had drawn him in more was at the mention of the Maiden that had ‘rudely interrupted’ the party briefly, they had been given news about her wellbeing. Her family were appalled by her behaviour during it, they were humiliated, their family would be dragged through the mud for it, however they thought up a solution to make up for this blunder. There was glee behind these words as his father loved nothing more than a family ripped apart by jealousy. But Jasper was still waiting with bated breath for his next words. Her family decided to remove the problem altogether by taking their daughter’s life themselves, his father chuckled after saying this but Jasper who was on the other side of the door felt his stomach turn, all he could see now was her face as it was splattered with the crimson substance he knew all too well, his father carried on with his statement, when the authorities came by the family paid them off to make it look like a suicide it would make sense either way.

This was enough of Jasper to hear, he could feel his mouth watering as he began sprinting towards the nearest bathroom. His hand covering his mouth as the feeling in his stomach got more intense, finally reaching it he closed the door behind him and opened the lid of the toilet, he opened his mouth and all that was in his stomach spilled out, all he could see was her face, her running out of the room as tears streamed down her cheeks. He gagged more as the thoughts continued to circulate her mind along with the words ‘murder’ ‘you killed her’ ‘she’s DEAD’ There was nothing else in his stomach for him to throw up so he sat with his back against the bathroom wall a hand over his mouth, he wanted to cry over this, but if he did he knew he would be called weak again by his father, his stomach still hut as he put his hands on either side of his head, if only he spoken to her that day, she would be still alive, if only he wasn’t a Noble he wouldn’t be forced into a marraige he didn’t want which caused the scene, if only he wasn’t a DEMON he wouldn’t be the son to a Noble in the Devildom. The thought of being a Human seemed more and more enticing to Jasper. He hated it all, he hated his life, he hated his family, his own birth name, but most of all he hated himself. Because he was one of them. A noble, if he was someone else completely he wouldn’t need to live in this house along with his parents, he could be free from them, free from this accursed marriage they forced him to. Free from hurting anyone else. As he was thinking this he remembered to needed to be happy, he couldn’t let his parent see him like this, No, who knows what remarks they would throw at him, he forced a smile on his face as he got up from the floor, flushing the toilet as her wiped around his mouth with the towel, he was making his way out when he heard thundering footsteps making their way down the hallwalls, as he turned he could see Kylora making her way down, there were tears in her eyes as she finally caught up to him embracing him, she told him she overheard what his parents had said about the women he had spoken to at the Ball, she reassured him that it wasn’t his fault. But of course these words did not convince him, he simply looked at her with a smile, telling her her was ‘fine’ but even with the smile on the surface she could see the torment that went on in his eyes, she told him not to lie to her, lying never solves anything, she knew how he would feel about knowing the life of a girl he had spoken to once was taken from the world by her own parents due to not wanting their family humiliated any longer. She cupped her hands around his face and told him he can cry about it, he’s not weak for feeling these emotions like his parents say. All Jasper responded to this was ‘I can’t.” It’s like his tear ducts had stopped working but the smile was still plastered onto his face. He almost looked insane with his expression. But this didn’t bother Kylora, she simply embraced him saying everything was going to be alright.

About a week later after that point Kylora came up to Jasper again, his parents were setting up a date plan for him and Nymeli, he could hear the distaste in her voice, her expression wasn’t hiding it either, she was clearly against it for his sake. It was then that Jasper brought up to her about a new name, with the time that had passed he had a clear mind on things, he was reminded the Maiden from the Ball had given herself a new name as she didn’t like her birth one. Something like this would be perfect for him, being referred to as either “Azran” or “Silgo’s son” wasn’t something to be happy about. He wanted to move far away from his family name if possible, Kylora perked up at the idea of this. She took him by the hand and led him to the family library, he asked why she brought him here and she said it was to help pick out a new name for, he looked about the room, there were thousands of books. How could he possibly find one he likes in this? The maid awkwardly fiddled with her dress, awaiting Jasper's response, he gave her a smile and said he’d start looking, she was doing more than his family ever could in this situation so the best thing to do was follow through. Hours went by and they’d only gone around so many books. There were so many demon related names to sift through it started to feel like a chore.

However Kylora’s eyes shone as she was reading through a book, rushing back to Jasper who had gotten distracted with a novel opened the book in his direction she pointed to the name ‘Jasper’ He blinked for a few moments asking what the name meant, she brought up what she had said in the past about using his true form to protect those he cared about, as he mentioned it he hadn’t actually brought out that form again since he was a child. Kylora mentioned that Jaspers are a kind of precious stone in the Human World, but there was another meaning to the word was that it meant ‘supreme nurturer’ someone who gives support and protects those that need it while taking away any negative emotions the person feels. He felt on the fence about this name but the thought of protecting those he cared about, the only being who fit that description was Kylora, she shook her head, he would meet others eventually, supporting them and protecting them if they needed it. He would meet others? He was stuck in his family's home unable to meet other beings unless it was at the ballroom parties that he had grown to dislike. She brought up to him that she’d spoken to his grandparents a few days about possibly moving out, this worried Jasper of course, he didn’t know his grandparents on his mother’s side very well as he’d only really seen them one during his childhood, Kylora mentioned the main reason why was due to them not sharing the same opinions his parents shared about the other species, they also disliked Nobles hence why they had moved to a much quieter part of the Devildom. Jasper couldn’t believe what he was hearing, why hasn't he spoken to them more? It was most likely the doing of his parents never bringing them up or inviting them over very often. Kylora informs him that they happened to help him move out to a place of his own, they felt sorry he even had to live in a place like that, and wished they could’ve met more. But even with this Jasper still felt worried about how his parents would react, not very well he can imagine.

Kylora reassured him that it was not up to them on which way his life took, he was free to make his own decisions. These words did little to reassure him but either way, having the opportunity to be far from his parents was something only something he could dream of. His grandparents dropped him off at his new home with a smile and gleeful expressions, eagerly awaiting him to see his new home, a cottage out in the forest, still a nearby town but away from any nobleman mansion, he waved his grandparents off as they drove off. He was wondering if his parents had even noticed he’d just left the house, they were still enraged when he didn’t go to the date planned by his parents but this didn’t bother him, he was free to live his own life the way he wanted. As an added bonus his grandparents took in Kylora as a friend, they knew she was unhappy serving his parents and she happily agreed, it was a relief to Jasper’s case too as it meant she would be taken care of in his absence, he also now went by the name Jasper, now happy with it he didn’t need to have his family lingering on the back of his mind whenever someone said his name.

But even with his family no longer in the picture, they had still caused a lot of mental damage to him, which he was aware of, but right now he was happy, which shone even in his eyes. Taking the first steps onto the path he made his way into the cottage along with his suitcase. More years had gone by, he had grown to enjoy his surroundings, he was now at the age of 1500 while having the appearance of a male in his mid 20’s, he hadn’t heard from his family during those relaxing years and he was thankful for it. He had however been keeping in touch with Kylora and was also enjoying her stay at his grandparents house. As Jasper continued to live at the cottage he had developed new interests he hadn’t while living with his parents such as Crochet, when walking about the town during a strolls there was a shop that sold a lot of them, mostly blankets and plushies all soft to the touch and neatly well made. He bought a kit for beginners, he slowly but surely began to learn how to Crochet, it was a relaxing pastime for him, another being the piano he had bought, he recreated the pages he had lost in the past, once being a much older page than the rest that it had turned a slight yellow colour, this one being the page that was kept in the hands of Kylora as the others were burnt, a thankful gesture he always keeps to heart. He would often be playing the Piano every couple of days.

But there was something missing from the stay and he knew this all too well, he had gotten to know the shop keepers of the Devildom but he hadn’t actually met with anyone in general, he still hadn’t been able to pursue any information on other species other than when he visited the royal library to look them up, there was definitely a significant different to the information that he was taught, but these were all past accounts, he wanted to meet the very beings that were being written about in such a way. But with how things were so far that almost seemed impossible as he’s not able to enter other realms, and it’s not very common to see an Angel or Human running about in the Devildom. As he gathered more wool for his crochet products, he had been selling them in the crochet shop for Grimm, the owner shares a part of the profits of course which Jasper didn’t mind, he didn’t want to keep using his Grandparents money to buy things so he thought to use his own hard earned cash. He made his way back to the cottage, opening the door to the cottage he was surprised to see a letter was on the floor, was this a letter from Kylora? Maybe his parents have finally found where he lived, that gave him a bit of dread but upon opening it, it wasn’t what he had expected, it was an invitations letter for the enrollment at the RAD academy, Jasper had to wrap his head over this, if this was an academy this would mean he’d be going to a school of sorts? He was homeschool growing up as his parents usually bought a tutor for him, however going to a school usually meant there were others there, and on the letter it mentioned about other species attending. It was as if excitement had hit him for the first time in years, he had the opportunity to meet other species at this Academy?

He couldn’t believe it, finally he could get the answers he needed. He ran to get a pen and started filling out the bottom, accepting the invitation that was basically an opportunity of a lifetime for him. He put the piece in a new envelope making sure it was stuck tight before putting it in the post box outside his home, now he just had to wait for it to be picked up. He went back into his home, wondering just where the Academy was, he hadn’t seen many tall buildings that represented an academy, the only one who saw that stood out was the Demon Lord's castle. Must’ve been a new edition to the Devildom? Either way he went back to crocheting his blanket with the new wool he had bought. He began humming to himself some classical tunes as he thought about the different students he may encounter. The next day came by and he checked the post box, his reply seemed to have been taken while he had slept, he assumed he would have to wait some time before he got sent something to do with it, he walked back to his cottage as he made his way in. However, instead of being greeted with his warm cottage as usual, a bright light caused him to bring his arm up instinctively, when he lowered it again, he was no longer at his home. What stood in front of him seemed to be an architecture rich building and overall great in size, was he transported to the location? Quite convenient, but he wished they’d just send him directions to the building. Either way his excitement only grew as his new life at RAD had begun.
