Personality:

Early is a powder keg of emotion and aggression, and the worst part of it is that he's fully aware of it. He's quick to anger, quick to violence, and does not back down from confrontation or risk of pain. Hot-headed is not close to describing him. Do not challenge him, do not insult him, do not question him, or you will be very sorry (assuming you're alive to regret it). That being said, when it comes to his gang, Early is unwaveringly loyal. He would die for one of his own, however closely or distantly he knows them, and believes strongly in the power of loyalty and trust. He trusts his gang members, but the moment they abuse that trust, he is sure to make them pay for it. Outside of 'work', however, Early can be an easy-going, even pleasant guy to be around. He likes to joke around, maybe a bit maliciously, and even spoils his gang a bit from time to time.

Most importantly, though: don't talk about his brothers to him. He will rip your head off. Early is a man long-since warped by the conditions of his life, who clearly recognizes his flaws, but makes no attempts to change this. That is a dangerous man indeed.

History:

Early was born the oldest of three boys, to a docile, beautiful Eevee and her husband, a Ho'Oh. Early's father was a powerful, stoic man who led the most powerful gang in Rosso City; facilitating robberies, drug and arms trade, and other criminal activity for many years. He kept his family separate, his secret achilles heel that the rest of the world was never meant to know about. Despite this protectiveness, however, the man was not a good husband, or a good father. He was physically abusive to their mother for as long as Early could remember, and verbally and emotionally abusive to his children, whom he expected to be tough and without flaw. 

As the oldest, Early felt it his responsibility to protect his family, even as a child. As a result, he took the brunt of abuse, especially once he was old enough to talk back. As time went on, the young Raikou used his anonymity to his advantage--infiltrating one of his father's drug cartels and exposing the entire organization to the police. He was directly responsible for the arrest of not only his father, but many of the key players in his father's gang as well. With their tormentor locked away, the family could continue their lives in relative peace, at least for a time. But it wasn't long after that their mother became ill, leaving her unable to work and acruing significant medical bills. Once again, Early felt it his responsibility to take care of his family. 

Considering who his father was, the last thing Early wanted to do was fall into that same criminal activity. But with work hard to find, he resorted to transporting knives for a man to bring in some extra money. What started as a simple 'messenger' job quickly escalated, and before he knew it, Early was transporting heavier artillery, most of which was very illegal. He struggled with doing what was right versus providing for his family, and the latter won out--sacrificing his dignity, and his honor, for what he felt was the greater good. As time went on, his brothers too became involved in the criminal world, something the Raikou would never fully forgive himself for. Together, the three formed a gang which absorbed the remnants of their father's influence, and became the new dominant power in the city. They reigned for years, making themselves known, but it would not last. 

Their beloved mother's health deteriorated to the point of becoming permanently bedridden in a hospital. She was frail, weak, and tired of suffering. While his brothers were convinced that their mother would pull through, that they could find a way to help her, Early knew the reality of it. She confided in her eldest, pleading with him to put her out of her misery, begging him to take care of his brothers and do the right thing. It was yet another struggle for the gang leader, but he ultimately conceded--quietly ending his mother's life one night with a merciful injection of drugs. It did not take his brothers long to realize what he'd done--they could not forgive his actions, not only for what he'd done, but for keeping it from them as well. 

This betrayal erupted into an irreparable conflict between the brothers, and resulted in the dissolution of their gang. In its stead, they each formed one of their own, with Early forming the Gold Bolts. He'd become so utterly beaten down by everything in his life, that he now ruled over his domain with an iron fist--demanding loyalty and obedience in exchange for his protection. His gang would become his new family, his lifeblood.

• Early has an oral fixation. He's always chewing on something, sucking on something, or eating something. Usually its a tooth pick or cigarette. 
• He's not an idiot: in fact, he's quite analytical and perceptive of things. Mostly, he just chooses not to acknowledge the things he doesn't wanna acknowledge.
• He is a Pisces.
