ABOUT
Flashbang is a very confident and headstrong young pegasus. He lives for the thrill of high-speed stunts and weather work, particularly tornado funneling and large-scale rain dispersal. He takes immense pride in his power and speed, and he never misses an opportunity to show off—whether it’s at flight camp exhibitions or during Cloudsdale’s weather drills. He may come across as cocky, but beneath that brash attitude lies a fierce sense of loyalty to his loved ones, especially his little half-brother, Rocket Sprint.

BACKSTORY
Flashbang was born as the unexpected result of a fast-burning, thrill-seeking relationship between Rainbow Dash and Lightning Dust. Their connection had never been emotional—it was built on adrenaline, physical chemistry, and a shared love for pushing limits. When Lightning Dust found out she was pregnant, Rainbow Dash panicked. Unprepared for the weight of parenthood and unwilling to confront the consequences, she walked away. No goodbyes, no contact. Just gone.

Lightning Dust was furious—not just at being left behind with a foal, but at being rejected. She raised Flash alone, pouring all her ambition, bitterness, and resentment into him. From the time he was small, she filled his head with venom about Rainbow Dash. “She abandoned us,” Dust would say. “She used me. She didn’t care enough to stay.” In her eyes, Dash was a coward and a traitor—and Flash grew up believing it.

Dust pushed Flash hard, training him to be fast, tough, and unbreakable. She wanted him to prove something to the world—to Dash, to the Wonderbolts, to everypony. But the pressure, combined with the toxic view of his absent mother, left Flash with a warped sense of identity and pride built on resentment.

As he grew older and more independent, cracks started to form in the narrative. Small encounters, accidental truths, and eventually, an awkward meeting with Rainbow Dash herself began to shift his view. Dash didn’t come back with excuses—just guilt, regret, and an offer to try.

Now, Flashbang is caught between two legacies: the fire and fury of Lightning Dust’s ambition, and the slow-burning, quietly unfolding truth of Rainbow Dash’s flaws and attempts to do better. He’s not sure which one he believes in yet—but he’s learning that he doesn’t have to be defined by either of them.

RAINBOW DASH | MOTHER

“I used to think she was a monster. Then I met her, and realized... she’s just a pony who ran. Still hurts the same.”

  MOTHER | LIGHTNING DUST

“She made me tough. Strong. Unstoppable. But sometimes... I wonder if I’m just built out of all her anger.”

ROCKET SPRINT | HALF-BROTHER

“Rocket’s cool. Way too honest. Says things I’m not ready to hear—but maybe I need to.”
