His experience with racism

Trolls and other monsters are very new to society. For centuries trolls (and other monsters too) have tried to get into civilisation, get jobs, live good and healthy lives, but for many centuries they were denied those rights, until very recently. This has come with huge backlash from a lot of human who have heard legends and myths about trolls destroying villages and being barbaric child-eating predators that can't be civilised because it's "not in their nature", even though this is far from the truth. This has lead to trolls being denied jobs they're perfectly certified for, simply because of how they look, it's lead to dating websites and apps having functions to filter away non-human users for people "uncomfortable" with meeting monsters, and even restaurants having specific parts of the place dedicated to monsters to separate them from the human (if they're even allowed at all, some restaurants won't even let monsters in). Of course, some cities are more conservative than others, but the issue is still there and it's something that's going to be there for a long time.
(Yes, this is unintentionally a parallell/reference to today's racism and segrigation of black, asian, indigious people and other minority races and/or communities).
