- this dirty, falling apart old toy cries because he has nobody left to love him anymore. the pins in his back increase with each day he is left to rot. he fears solitude, and demands his minions fetch him materials to make friends. one hoping to defeat him must know true melancholy.

- their duty is to collect. they search for things the witch can use to make friends, but since they have small, fluffy brains, they aren't very smart. they often bring back items that remind the witch of the one who abandoned him.
- Bernhard, the crafting witch's minion.
- their duty is company. they serve the witch by attempting to keep him company, but because of their sharp heads and limbs, they often injure and scare him, causing him to withdraw further into his labyrinth.
the doppel of loneliness, craft shaped. the master of this emotion is not really in control at all. when left to its own devices, this doppel falls into a state of utter sadness. it cries and cries, unleashing torrents of bitter tears that corrode anything they touch. the more it cries, the harder it is to control, and the more likely it will flood the world with tears, drowning everything in solitude. its master is ashamed of its threadbare state, and doesn't want anyone to look at it, though he cannot see it himself.
- alene's labyrinth is cozy, inviting, and soft. everything is draped in fabric, cotton batting, thread and yarn. there are large needles, pins and knitting needles scattered a round, seemingly acting as columns.
