Nyx got born on a cold winter morning as the second and last child of her parents. She has one older sister, Deira, and while the two are the polar opposites of each other they always shared a close bond. Deira was the wild child of the family and choose the path of chaos and freedom, but Nyx always liked to follow rules and went with the plan her parents had for her. She never took the magic that she had for granted and spend a lot of time to train and control it.

Just as her parents wanted she became an apprentice at a temple, far far away. She knew this would mean leaving her family behind and giving up everything she had, but she was more than willing to pay this price when it meant that she would become stronger. She became the golden child at the temple, always on top of her peers, always focusing on improving. The loneliness that followed with that closed a heart.

Years of patience and hard work eventually paid off when the old high priestess stepped down and Nyx got choosen as the next leader of the temple. Around that time she met her sister again. The other priestess of the temple frowned upon those that didn't dedicate their magic to a higher being. Nyx was torn between the thing she claimed to be her destiny and her sister. Eventually she decided that the safest option for her sister would be if Nyx choose the temple. Because even though Deira usually hid away her strengh Nyx was fully aware of the fact that her sister posessed raw powers that would probably beat anyone elses at the place, there was a reason she had 9 tails. Her choice caused a rift between her sister and herself, leaving her more lonely and broken then before.

Friends from the other side 

Since Nyx had to leave for the temple she occasionally suffered from nightmares. After abandoning her sister those nightmares turned into night terrors that kept her awake night for night. Around that time a special power of hers activated. It took some time to manifest and she has yet to figure out where it came from, but slowley another world opened up to her, metaphorically. She started to see ghosts and beings that belonged on the other side and gained the skill to communicate with them. From that point on they kept her company in those nights where sleep was her biggest enemy.
