• I was thinking she could have potentially been engaged to Ukyo or one his playthings, which is where she first meets Kyuzo
• she's a proficient fighter and worthy of being called a samurai, although she's not one of the samurai recruited by Kambei; she does however help defend the village and ends up dying at the end
