A charater that I created with Somax for a comic project.
Appearance
A young alien kid wearing a dark cloak that covers most of his body. His head is oval-shaped, with slit, blind eyes, two large mandibles hiding his mouth, three pearl-like bulbs on each side of his head and some sort of gills right under each bulb. His body is slender, his appendages ending in two-finger hands and three-finger feet. The skin covering his whole body is pale and of a purplish hue that shines creating a pearlescent effect, especially around his head.
History
In the early 20th Century, his family and him moved into a city so that he would learn to live in harmony with people - but soon he learned that mankind is afraid of feeling so seen. Amongst the children, he found a friend in Mervos, a human kid of his age that attended the same school. They soon became friends, spending their childhood and teenage years together, sharing their adventures for what he thought would be forever. But when Mervos reached adulthood, he was forced to leave and fight in the war. For many years, the both of them were separated, and terrifying news about the terrors of the war kept reaching the town, which made the alien man lose his grasp on reality. But when his body was almost about to give out, he was brought to a hospital room where he reunited with his childhood friend, the same smile in his face, and everything went back to how it always should have been.
Personality
He's part of a species that is blind, but "sees" their surroundings through other people. By perceiving people's thoughts and feelings, they have learned to understand themselves and navigate their way through their daily lives. While not everyone of their kind is welcome by the citizens, they use their abilities and understand where they're not welcome so that they can avoid getting in harm's way. Once they find people to get along with, their relationships are usually long and durable, as there can be no secrets within them.
Relationships
The alien boy befriended Mervos (not listed) when they were kids, and they reunited after the war.
