Profile

Rinarei is a tiefling who was raised in the city of Stremvole. Her mother, Kyrira, died at the hands of her abusive and alcoholic father, Valxikas, at the age of 5. After her mother was murdered, her father delegated her as the 'woman' of the house, being the only one to cook, clean, and run errands. Needless to say she became an adult much sooner than expected or intended, especially after Valxikas's accident at the mines which left him crippled.

At the age of 6, she began to visit the church down the street from her home, where she met Chous Bluescale, a dragonborn paladin with a perpetually angry expression, who was also the head of the guard team for the city. Despite his usually gruff nature, Rina took quite well to him, sticking close to him whenever she could when she had spare time outside of her home.

After observing one of Chous's training sessions, Rina was motivated to ask him if he could teach her how to fight. He agreed, teaching her basic self-defense at first. Seeing determination from the young child despite her being small and looking non-threatening, he saw her potential and offered to train her as a paladin. She eagerly accepted his offer and trained under him for 12 years, continuing to visit the church and worshiping Bahamut, the god of justice, the same god that he worshiped.

Upon turning 18, her father was offered a spot on the newly-formed Lower District Council, a political group for the city made so as to keep the Lower District citizens' complaints to a minimum. He accepted and was delegated the head of the council, and upon observing Rinarei they offered her a position as the Head Guard of the Lower District. She has since worked this position with joy, being immensely proud of herself for working so hard to achieve it despite her appearances. Despite this, however, the doubt in the back of her mind still lingers; even though she knew she deserved the position for the right reasons, she also knew that the only reason the High District Council noticed her in the first place was because of her father's newfound political power. Anyone willing to call her out on her seemingly cute and non-threatening appearance is likely to get her fist in their face faster than they can react to.
