Ranieri Sforza

Ranieri is born the fourth son to his father Aris Sforza of Artemia and his mother Savia of Materamo. It's shortly after the birth of his younger sister that his father passes away. With his eldest brother Venerio being too young at the time to take up the mantle of Duke of Artemia, their uncle Vincentio takes the burden on himself to become the interim duke. Being only 4th in line suits Ranieri just fine, though. It allows him to live a worriless and easygoing existence. He does not feel the need to learn anything about possibly becoming the ruler of... anything. So instead, he spends his time doing whatever he likes; socialising and swordfighting.

Going on self-proclaimed adventures is one of Ranieri's favourite things to do, though the farthest he's ever gone on his own is just outside the city walls of Artemia; his mother doesn't like her children undertaking dangerous things. On one such walk, however, Ranieri walked into a rather handsome wall of a man. Taking a liking to this Amadore di Menna fellow, he takes him up to meet his uncle and get him a job as the commander of the guard. This allows the two to get to know each other much, much better.
